So I have put just over 1300 miles on my 2019 in two weeks. This car is absolutely awesome! Its a 401A, PP1, 10R80, magneride, active exhaust. Truly think ford has hit a home run on this car. With that, I do have a couple issues.

Anyone with the 10R80, this thing is incredible and i never thought i would enjoy an auto over the manual but this has just taken the cake. My only issue i personally have is not with the trans, but more so the software i guess. So my friend has the ZL1 with the A10, and say youre cruising on the highway and want to kick it down, you can simply click and hold the downshift paddle for a second and it will drop you instantly to the best gear to take off. Tried everything in the mustang and it seems we just dont have that feature.

I have also noticed that the trans is decently noisy at idle, its nothing crazy or annoying but there is definitely a distinct sound. Im sure it is normal, but anyone else with the 10R80 care to chime in?

The lack of a CD player also put a little damper on it for me. granted i can sync a phone and have satellite radio but for long road trips, its nice to have a cd player handy. I was told that mine was going to have the B&O sound system, however upon delivery i found out that it does not. The Sync 3 system also seems to have a very small delay at some times at startup, but again nothing major that becomes an annoyance, just things that i have taken note of.

Lastly, and this honestly isnt a huge deal for me personally so i feel im really reaching, but i love the gloss upper grill. I wish they would have done the same to match the lower, but then again they might have had to gloss the trim pieces to pull it off. The lower grill is also most likely going to take all the road debris so i understand why they may have not.

I could write a novel on all the positives of this car, but im sure anyone who has driven or owns one already knows how awesome they are. Just wanted to throw my .02 cents in.

Congrats on you beautiful stang! I have the 10 speed, I like to drive in sport mode and punch it at say 55 mph
And hang on! It deff downshifts hard in that mode. I don’t use the paddle shifters, probably because I’m still learning
About my car. 2,300 miles so far on my 18.

Thanks man, its the same function as just mashing the gas and letting the trans downshift to the correct gear for you. It just allows it to be done for you while in S instead of having to pull the paddle 6-7 times. Really good feature and i wish we had it

Congrats...looking forward to mine also.

My recommendations would be the following:

Trans whine is known issue on 2018s and now apparently 2019s. No way yet to know if this affects reliability yet. Would be a good idea to have dealer notate this. Maybe they'll do a TSB/Recall or maybe it will be just fine.

Rip your CDs to MP3s and use either your phone or a USB stick. You can rip them at 320K and still sound fantastic. B&O system is only if you paid the upgrade (old shaker pro) so that explains that. Hopefully stock 2019 system is adequate for you.

Yeap! all my 6 previous mustang where manual, decided to give the auto a chance (all the hype help, off course) but, I have not miss the manual at all on this car. Maybe the reeving to say hi to the other mustangs, but that's about it. It is that good, and that drag mode, that ain't no joke :) either.

Gratz on your new pony!

Glad you're loving your ride! I have the A10 and yes mine is noisy it almost sounds like I have a blower haha. Mine downshift to the best possible gear immediately, even in regular D but that may be because I'm tuned. I'm like you and some of these other gents, I usually go manual but wanted the auto and I don't miss it a bit, especially when I take my car to the drag strip and clock off an 11.61 @ 122.95 in 90 degree Texas heat! These bastards are quick

Trick on hwy is to drop it in sport S to find your gear you want. Once you go wot bump it back in D for it to shift. Same on my A6 14 GT. Does not hurt the trans. Lol.

My understanding is that you can also hold the upshift paddle for 1 second to revert it back to self-shifting while leaving it in S.

Really? Have not tried that.
True. It is in the manual. :-)

Something that is in the manual but isn't clear is that if you want a lower gear for engine braking while in D simply use the downshift paddle with your foot off the gas. It will stay in the lower gear until you apply some gas. Handy on long down grades or when you want to lose some speed without using brakes.

Was this a custom order or did your dealer merely have one on order that you called dibs on prior to it arriving? If you ordered it and asked for B&O system and they didn't tick the box... I'd be pretty darn angry!

So, you have to pull the paddle a few times?

We're you charged for the B&O system? Was it part of the deal? You seem pretty nonchalant about that.

Anyways, music on your phone? Youtube music? A hundred other ways to hear what you want through your phone?

Nice, i just ran mine for the first time the last two days. Thursday was just terrible and the best i could manage was 12.6 ET, best trap speed of the night was on a 13.2 et @114. Took it last night to the track and much better air, still not great but got a 12.3 @116 so im not too upset. I have used the DA correction calculator and it puts it right where all the good times are.
I feel like if i could get one more run in with cooler AIT's i would have hit 12.0.

Ya, its just nice to pull and hold briefly to put it in the best optimal gear instead of having to pull 6-7 times. If i leave it in D and mash it, the trans does the shift for ya so its the same thing but for driving with S mode. I wasnt charged for the B&O system and didnt select it because i was told they are now standard on the 19 updates. Had i of known there was not going to be a CD player, i would have probably picked the option. Not super pissed about it, but a little drop in communication. Like mentioned, i can rip them all to a drive but i guess im oldschool and like having a case of cds to DJ with haha
