From my understanding, the 2019's have a revised shock tune and a revised ABS tune due to the stickier Cup 2 OE tires. Does anyone have an idea if we can backdate the 15-18 cars with the updated tunes?

Where does it say that backdating is possible? I'm looking through the article and I'm not seeing it.
from the article

(I asked a Ford rep if the newly calibrated shocks could be applied to the 2016 GT350 models and he said that he couldn’t see why not.)

So are the springs and sway bars, and bushings.

I specifically asked this question to Ford racecar driver Billy Johnson (who helped with testing and developing these new calibrations) and he replied that it’s not compatible with previous years....

the actual shock is different.
I knew about the softer rears and the swaybar. Didn't know that they made changes to the actual shock. So, the easy answer is no to the tune compatibility unless we can also get our hands on the shock. That sucks.
