145 pounds would certainly help. Honestly, with this, I wouldn't expect much more than that and a SLIGHT power bump.

I am another true enthusiast who is fascinated with the obsession for more and more horsepower.
500, 600, 700, 800? How much horsepower is really practical and necessary for a street driven car.
But I totally get it...the cool factor, the stares, the thumbs-up, bragging rights, burnouts and tire smoke, shifting at redline...the satisfaction of beating that person in the lane beside you to the next red light or traffic jam.
Yeah, I'm being sarcastic.

But unless you regularly drag race the car, what can a responsible driver routinely do with 700-800 horsepower on the street?
The current horsepower race is a little bit silly.
It surely made sense back in the mid-late 1960's, when horsepower sold cars.
We were a different country then with different priorities and responsibilities.
"No replacement for displacement"!! I remember my Dad's '65 R-Code Galaxie and '69 428 CJ Torino.

Anyway, technology and efficiency sell cars today.
What was once considered more and better generations ago, now needs to less and better integrated to achieve the same or better performance goals.
Today's performance objectives and numbers include efficiencies of operation/environmental impact as well as 0-60/quarter mile times.
This means less weight, less displacement and eventually less horsepower.

I believe that today is true golden age of horsepower.

I'm truly looking forward to the release of the next mega horsepower Mustang - it should a technological masterpiece and close to the pinnacle of horsepower development for the brand- if you need it, buy it.

Obviously, I am not an automotive engineer, product developer or mechanic.
Just a die-hard Ford and Mustang enthusiast who lives and breaths these awesome vehicles every day.

My 2 cents.

As long as they don't add power I wont be upset...My 17 should be here in about 2 months.

How much would make you upset?

Where did you get that. The specs I have seen a base GT weights about 60lbs less than a base GT350
Yep. Best I can tell the GT/PP and the 350 base weigh about the same with the 350 maybe being slightly heavier with it's bigger wheels, bigger brakes and additional cooling.

If you're referring to the Vorshalg article note that the 350 had a full tank of fuel while the GT/PP has a quarter tank.

Actually, I'd be stoked if they added a few trick suspension parts that we could bolt on to ours. Shoot, even power parts in most cases.

How'd you order your '17?

In Summary does anyone know for sure what the changes will be?

I believe the 10 speed auto is the only confirmed change. Everything else is speculation.
And Ford themselves haven't even confirmed that's going into the '18MY ;)

I suspect most, if not all, of the changes have been mentioned in this thread. But we're going to have to wait for Ford to release the car to find out what posts were correct :headbonk:

I know it'sounds a bit late in the thread, but I would prefer they spend another year in development and release the refresh in MY2019 with more substantial improvements and more performance options.
