My prediction for the 18MY refresh are a more aggressive front fascia, changing the rear fascia to accommodate a quad exhaust (non dual mode), GT 350 style hood. All exterior lights will be LEDs. A power bump of 20-25 hp, and 10-15 ft. lbs. tq. Dual piston rear brake calipers will be standard. Re-calibrated dampers and spring rates for the PP Suspension, and a optional Ford Performance Track Pack Suspension with magnetic dampers and quad piston rear brake calipers. Minor changes to the interior (flat bottom steering wheel, upgraded materials), minimal if any weight savings. Let's see if any of this sticks. Aloha.
Hope at the very least the MagneRide shocks come true on your list, wouldn't mind paying more for those in a heartbeat.

If you're right, they'll sell one to me without too much trouble.

When was the last time a new body style was introduced without some kind of a power bump?

Even the 2010s had "15" hp on the 3v...which was just the Bullitt intake/tune from what I remember.

That's quite a list
Yep but it's all stuff that should already have happened be on the car. Like many have said the refresh *IS* the Mustang to get according to the insiders.

That's the one thing I'm not sure I would option because the repair costs on those things are absurd. Something like $750 minimum per shock at least.

Usually a new bodystyle is released with a bump and a new engine with a substantial power increase is released the following year. Either way, I'm maintaining my prediction of a 485hp/450lbft power upgrade for 2018/2019 GT.

Stuff that "should" have "already happened." Why? Ford is selling boatloads of these cars without these things. They are in the business of making and selling cars, not catering to the fancies of one Mr. Spartan.

Yeah, it'd be nice to have some of those options, but this notion that they should have done it, and it's sh*tty that they didn't, and so on, is just foolish. 6 years ago, we had a 315hp Mustang with no where near the suspension or handling the current car has.

Now we have a 435hp Mustang with a PP over and above anything the older car had, and a 526hp GT350 with even more options. No. Ford is doing just fine, my friend. Just because someone else releases a faster car (that's also more expensive, mind you), doesn't imply a failure on Ford's part.

On the contrary, the horsepower wars have spoiled us. Count your lucky stars that so many options are available today that weren't available a few years ago.

Maybe Ford should consider the 427 used in the Shelby power plant

I'm quoting a few people on the inside know supposedly...they've stated that the refresh is the one to get.

Look in the end, get what the you want. For me, I'm not going to buy something unless I think it should have the CURRENT gen stuff on it for the current day/time of what the competition has.

Didn't know it was that much, but not too "shocked". :)

So this 2018 refresh has to last till the complete redesign in 2021?

If that is correct, then they will have to add enough upgrades to last till then.

Thoughts?

That's what the ones on Audi's cost supposedly when I was talking to someone who had it on their S3. They also have a shorter life span supposedly. It's one of those upgrades people don't take into account the repair costs and then when they fail they get massive sticker shock. Also you have to replace them in pairs (Front/Back) at least on the Audis.

Totally. After this you'll see minor upgrades like styling schemes (paint, special editions) and maybe a minor tech thing here or there. If they don't do the HP bump now then they'd save that till one of those.

Ignore Spartan. By that I mean, put him on Ignore :D:thumbsup:....He has been spouting stuff for almost 2.5 years around here about what the car should have before he will buy it.

As you can see, he still hasn't bought shit and will never buy anything. Ford could put everything he wants in his head for 30k and he would not pull the trigger. Biggest tire kicker around here.

Performance-wise...maybe but I have a hard time believing that the guys who bought '15-'17 cars are going to be saying this. The first version of the S550 is pretty revolutionary and this was the "important" version of the car.

I seriously doubt that the reveal of the 2018 refresh will be covered on the morning news.

Then again, I hope you're right. The '18 would have to be pretty darned amazing.
