I figured. I couldn't seem to find anything else. This thread is all we have for now :(
I still have hope, primarily because someone posted on the Bullitt forums that they talked with Chad McQueen at some event and he said he was talking with Ford about the possibility of doing a new one. Another person was at another event and heard the same. So whether they make one or not remains to be seen, but I think there's definitely talk between Ford and McQueen which means it's at least being seriously considered if nothing else.I also don't believe it will be produced for 2018, given what's been seen informally here on the forums for the last 6-9 months, along with what certain folks have shared.
Well from what I heard, that was a huge pain when they made the 01 Bullitt, they had to run everything from posters to advertising all by Warner Bros and they said it was such a pain that they would never do it again. Then the 08 model happened somehow so they must have gotten beyond that holdup. Obviously Ford isn't opposed to paying royalties otherwise they could have skipped the Shelby and gone with a new name. The reason they will not likely come out with a Bullitt model is Ford will have to pay a licensing fee to Warner Bros. for every unit sold, just as they do for the GT350 (and GT500) to Shelby. Better to do a Mach 1 and save the money!
It was posted on the internet, of course it's true!If this is true I'll definitely be rethinking the GT350 purchase.
Perhaps for the next generation, given the time it could take into the product planning cycle. I'd be surprised if we hear an announcement for the 2018 model year. In fact, I would be shocked, but I would adjust :-)I still have hope, primarily because someone posted on the Bullitt forums that they talked with Chad McQueen at some event and he said he was talking with Ford about the possibility of doing a new one. haha, truth. It's not like I ran out and cancelled my GT350 order. :cheers:It was posted on the internet, of course it's true!
I don't think you will find many Mustang people that honestly care.I don't think the refresh will be able to make up the .5 second difference between the GT and Camaro SS in 0-60 lol
Adding direct injection could definitely do it.I don't think the refresh will be able to make up the .5 second difference between the GT and Camaro SS in 0-60 lol
Honestly this is kind of what I'm expecting. One of the rumors is active quad exhaust, which could mean Shelby style rear valance, and I could see how a milder take on the Shelby front bumper could be a safe but attractive front bumper refresh.I just hope ford doesn't pull a 2013. Making the Whole line of Mustangs look like the Shelby model.
lol I know you would hate it but us regular GT guys would LOVE it. At least I would. Save me 20-30k.I just hope ford doesn't pull a 2013. Making the Whole line of Mustangs look like the Shelby model.
