I wonder what was behind the decision to use those wheels.

I'm just having fun imagining an impatient engineer not wanting to wait any longer to get the prototype out on the road and installing the closest set of spare wheels he could find, which just happened to be from a 2010 GT500.
I worked at Ford in Dearborn's product development center for a short time when I first moved back to Michigan and our building was full of spare parts. It was normal to see things like an entire pallet of brand new Recaros sitting out in the hall and there was a store room filled with extra wheels and tires. My buddies and I would always walk by and joke if we thought we could make it out the door with a few sets of GT500 wheels or not. Seemed like there always were at least 4 or 5 sets of them just sitting around stacked up among several other sets of wheels. They probably just needed an extra set of wheels that would fit over the 6pot brembo brakes and the gt500s were available.

Their market is the world now. If the hood bulge kills the muscle car look then just ad a new hood. The rest of the car looks just about identical and it's getting a much better front end resembling more of the GT350 with upgrade lights (prob fusion direction like their whole line up is going)
Do not want a V8 fusion.

At least for us waiting to see the 2018 completely, before making decision, timing is good. If 2018 is too Fusion-ish, we'll hopefully have some time and hopefully some decent incentives to get rid of the old models.
Lots of articles, pics, etc on this subject since the S550 came out.

It is worth noting, since it'll definitely be noted, just how much the Mustang resembles other Fords, like, say, a Fusion. And, it clearly does. The fundamental design vocabulary clearly crosses over, from the shapes of the grilles to the general light design to the hood surfacing details and more.
You have that on your current GT in the front. Just google Mustang/Fusion and look at the photos.

Maybe it's me, but the front end side profile appears to resemble the GT 350/R.
Can't wait for the reveal...

Yep...100% correct...said the same thing. It's a much better profile since the GT350 was developed after the S550 and improved some of the early design. The main thing again is a lowered hood by an 1" and less of a bulge.

Which also lends support to my (totally unbased) theory that the refresh will basically take the Mustang to looking like a GT350 front end..Ford's history supports this.

Will it be indentical? No..just as the 2013/14's werent identical to the GT500, but they were all similar.

Agreed.
Was referring more to the overall shape and profile of the front valance/lower grill/side marker/splitter area.

The Middle part of the bumper seems much smaller than on the current model

My thoughts as well. It's supposed to be a mid-cycle 'refresh' so IMHO don't see it being more than cosmetic changes and possibly the 10-speed auto.

A huge change is seen under the hood. There are some information that are gathered. First, it’s V8 5.0L engine that will be placed under the hood. This engine is able to generate 440 HP which will make the car as one of the strong muscle cars in the future.

That sounds like it's written by Horsepower Kings...ugh.

440HP wouldn't be that impressive given the 5.0 currently makes 435 lol.

Good ole' 4.6 3V.

I don't know my Mustangs well enough. Is that a picture of a 2018 or a previous generation?
