Leadfoot is a cool color. You won’t be disappointed. The stripe combo you posted looks really good.

The 18 has 10,000 miles, I wouldn’t worry about engine issues, it seems if they were going to go / oil consumption, engine replacement, it would be known issue right away in early miles of ownership.
That is not necessarily true when it comes to oil consumption, as what starts as "normal" does progress over time in some of these Gen 1 engines. However, a 2018 especially a later build may have had the issue addressed (rings or whatever Ford never fessed up to). And most Gen 1 engines did not have oil consumption problems. Nevertheless would consider an extended warranty just in case. Nothing worse than buying a used (or any) car for a lot of moola, having it go south, and leave you holding the bag and hating that manufacturer for the rest of your life.

What would you consider a later build? The build date on this one is 12/17 if I remember?

The reason it gets worse over time is because blow by causes the rings to get stickier and stickier as time goes on. This can happen to any year, but the gen1's seemed to have used lower tension rings that are more susceptible to not being maintained than the later models.

So someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that build date is an early 2018 build. Again if I remember correctly those built in the latter half of the 2018 build year were "fixed" or at least had far fewer instances of oil consumption. Again, not a great percentage of those 2017/2018 Gen 1 engines did have the problem but might consider the extended warranty given that build date until you are sure after driving it it doesn't consume oil "excessively". By that I honestly mean at most a quart per oil change and preferably much less. I know a quart per 1500 miles or less doesn't bother some people but its an added expense and worry.

Oh decisions... the dealer is willing to drop the price to $55K (Before Tag/Tax/Title/Processing Fees).. The history on this one is great.. its in fantastic shape sans a few rock chips and the front spoiler has some scrapes..

2018 LFG with 10K miles.. recaros and tech package… maintenance records and cpo (90/days or 4k/miles)

Took a look at the 2020.. I am going to throw an offer at the dealer for the 2018 LFG.. we will see what happens. 🤞

Seems to be hard finding one of these GT350's in the dealer space that isn't beat up for have issues. There are a couple in the area but the LFG seems to be the better kept of them.

Thanks everyone for info! Greatly appreciate the insights.
So my opinion is I only buy a performance car from a dealer as a new vehicle. To your point. Many get traded in beat up or issues etc. Not all but a lot.

Many super clean performance vehicles never touch dealer lots used because they go private seller to private seller. Id argue the best examples do this most of the time.

If its used, I only by private 1-2 owner with a good chain of custody.

fair point, but please remember that not everyone around here is in the financial position to do the same…and some of us that are, will gladly wait for the first owner(s) to take the initial depreciation hit 🫠

Makes perfect sense and I agree. Biggest reason this one is interesting to me is the history appears clean… 2 owners… first owner had it for less than a year and traded it in at a Chevy dealer with 2K miles.. Second owner had it until it was traded in with 10K miles back in August.

It was only serviced at two different dealers in IA.. I called both service departments for history and any customer statements.. basic oil changes every ~1K/Miles which was about once a year. Some minor warranty work. No complaints on oil consumption.

OASIS report shows a replaced AC compressor, replaced battery, and replaced airbag sensor.

Scouring the interwebs I can’t find any posts on social media or forums that reference the vin or chassis number. Historically I have found folks tend to vent their frustrations online when their cars are not acting right. There is one guy who had a LFG that was bemoaning his issues but the chassis number was different.

Also gathered additional info from BADVIN on top of the Carfax which both aligned with the info gathered from the dealers who serviced the vehicle.

Pretty uneventful… which is a good thing.

I’ve driven a lot of these over the past few months and this one drove extremely well.. no piston slap I could hear, no weird drivetrain noises, tracked the road well, nothing that stood out.

There is never a guarantee that your picking up a car that won’t have problems not mater which way you go.

That is definitely an early build 2018. For reference my 2018 was built in June 2018 and is Chassis #3497.

Also 55k seems a bit high, no?

It’s seems to be about right for a low mileage 2018 with a clean history and no accidents…at least within several hundred miles of where I am.

I could probably fly somewhere and do a road trip back to save a couple thousand? Not sure the juice is worth the squeeze there.. 🤷🏼‍♂️
