You must drive slow in that neighborhood... just kidding (police cars in two drive ways)
the speed limit is 30 and i mostly stick to it.. the cop opposite my home has a Race red S197, so he's kinda cool :like: There are some other S550s with headers in my community which are so loud, i hear them even though they're few streets away. The cops here don't care much unless you do something really stupid

Car looks sweet! I would definitely go gloss. Be careful when ordering, the gloss is usually a little more expensive than the matte. $210 sounds like the matte.

Thanks, sure I've double checked and the Matte is 160 whereas gloss is 210.

Are these vents closed off on the bottom or do they still act as 'heat extractors'?

The two sections at the bottom and middle are closed and the top is open. It still functions as a heat extractor since the air is forced up and out.

How would reverse vent positioning work, will it be better than the existing top facing vent options in cooling?

vent angle is more correct if comparing to a 1968 GT/CS stock hood?

I have been wondering about the MMD one, uses existing hardware and two small 3m strips. can get paint matched or gloss black etc. honeycomb pattern matches my gt/cs side scoops.

MMD does have a Foose version, but looks incomplete and odd, I have not seen any customer examples of that one, and looks as if it has no grill and just exposed and you can see the screw plate.

I really don't think the vent position matters. Hot air rises and as such it will get pushed up. The vents are still open at the back which just means the air will be channel toward the windshield before being extracted. It's not huge distance to travel. Maybe an extra 6-8".

Fyi
Vents position , shape and size all matter.
The OEM vents type and size just help to dissipate heat when the car is stopped. Definetely Not helping for cooling or Downforce when the car is moving.

Fair enough, good information to have.

Out of curiosity what type of vents are best when the car is moving?

Real hood vents.
With the blades goin inside to deflate the air.
And some kind of wickers in the front to create low pressure just behing to facilitate the air extraction.
I understand this seems extreme but those are the only ones really working.
