2018 SHELBY GT350 PROUCT CHANGES
The only changes to the 2018 Shelby GT350/GT350R will be exterior colors. All other functional, exterior and interior content will be carryover from 2017MY. Final color lineup will be announced at a later date

As much as I love the FPC, it's not enough to keep the competition away. Let's be real here. If the FPC was that great ford would continue to use it in the GT4 and FR350S. And to add to your comments, as much as I hate to admit it. Magazine articles sell cars. Like it or not it's true. HP isn't the winner in a race. I agree, but everything else counts.

So would you call the FPC a gimmick? ;););)

A gimmic no. A sales ploy yes. Can you prove it makes more power? What's the real advantage it's giving over the A52XS engine that's basically the same minus the crank and firing order. If it's so great why doesn't the GT4 and FP350S have the FPC?

Don't get me wrong I love the voodoo and FPC. But is it better than a CPC 5.2? In my opinion, no.
The lighter FPC also robs some torque when compared to a CPC.

I am not throwing a shot at the sales guy, I am throwing a shot at who ever decided you can require a signing up for a program to sell a car you cant even do a oil change on. Whats the point of the program??

based on the application, it seems the point is to snag 1k per dealer per year lol

It really is too bad. This new gen of ford performance vehicles are really impressive, and the sort of "old school" ways of doing things at dealerships sort of puts a damper on it. In many ways, the car business needs to join the 21st century, be it with the sales process, the customer service process, and also with the way dealership employee compensation works.

To firestarter2's point, that document contains a requirement for a certified salesperson, but no requirements for any service department personnel. Yeah, it's probably one of the reasons they can't do a proper chin splitter install or oil change. They should have a service requirement where they can at least prove they've watched the chin splitter install video.

I wish they would have dropped the CPC in there for 2018. More power...more ways to make power without destroying the engine, less vibes...etc... It would have been an overall winning way to go about it. Oh well..shoulda coulda woulda. Don't get me wrong I love the FPC but the CPC would have been a way to squeeze out power.
