My experience as a tech, advisor and service manager is that Ford parts themselves are fairly accurate in terms of having what they say they have when they say they have it. Individual dealerships parts departments often fall prone to seeing inventory initially, not placing the order until the end of the day (fairly standard practice unfortunately) and then finding out what they thought was there has already been allocated. And depending on the system they use, pure and simple human error seems to come into play more often than it should. I suspect Tasca doesn't actually "stock" most parts for the 18 Mustang and have been relying on getting parts overnighted from their depots, which, depending on how they do their orders, may have unintentionally given a lot of us false hope if they do what most dealers do and place their overnight orders after 5PM for the overnight run. Only speculation, but it might explain some the silliness we've all encountered. If I can go to the dealership and they can pull accurate stock data from Ford's warehouses, I think Tasca can have their own inventory up to date. No matter how big Tasca is, they aren't bigger than Ford Parts. (my assumption, not proven to be a fact)
Having accurate order information isn't a "personal touch," it is good business practice. Like I said though, all hope is not lost. And Ford parts could very well be the blame for a lot of this. I just haven't had this issue with other suppliers and I have been buying parts for years.
