Hey guys this is my first post on the forums as well as my first time owning a mustang

Earlier today I went outside to get in my car and drive to class but wen I remote started my car it turn on and then off again. Confused i tryed again and it did the same thing. Then i got in the car and tryed to turn it on with the start button. The car stuttered aa bit but still didnt turn on. It flashed some messages saying that engine modes were limited and steering modes were limited . However it showed a check engine light and a battery light. So i got out and called AAA to give me a jump start. But wen they got to the house the battery light was gone but check engine stayed.

I called an Uber and went to class since my mom had shit to do like prepaid for the hurricane.

Wen i got back I instantly went outside and tryed to turn on the car using the start up button inside the cabin and it turn right on and engine light was gone. I drove it around the neighborhood and i think it was driving normally (ive had the car for 4 days so I’m still getting used to it and dont exactly know what “normal” feels like).

I’m considering taking it to the dealer that i was going to take it to if the light didnt go off. Basically I’m posting this to see if anyone has expereince anything like this before and to ask if you guys think i should still take it in. Even tho the light turned it self off while the car was off and i was at school. Also the car only has 11,400 miles.

Take it to an auto parts store that will do trouble-code checks for free with an OBD2 code reader. If the check engine light was on, there should be a stored trouble- code associated with the check engine light. Report back on what code(s) they find.
