Couple thoughts, first looks like it isnt a bad deal really. As mentioned a striped car + this is not bad. Second, I like the PP myself so for example then trying to figure out what I would add for suspension,brakes etc. is a challenge in the configurator to me, but Im certain Shelby would help me. Can I have the PP and add the Wilwood rear brakes? Those types of things. Mind you that Im new to this, kind of, raced cars in the 70's and 80's but basically driven trucks since. So it is definitely something I would look into.

Can you buy the entire car from them? Or do you supply a donor?

You can order a car from them or a Ford dealership & have it delivered to them instead of your dealership, then have them build it out. This might cost more.

If you can find a car on a lot and get a good deal on it, or already own one (this is for 2015-2017) you can ship it to them. And probably save some $.

Alternatively, it wouldn't be a bad idea to shop around for a low miles 2015 car, and use that as the base since you'll be changing out most of the suspension, wheels, tires and optionally brakes. So you're essentially getting a refreshed almost new car. This is where I think you could turn an old generic '15 Mustang in to something awesome.

If I didn't already have a '17 on order, I'd have even considered this, as I was kind of upset they discontinued Competition Orange and was going back & forth with buying a lightly used 2015 competition orange mustang.

I believe they do both for new buyers or existing owners.
Shelby is not a manufacture. They are a mod company.
I honestly don't understand the collectiblility of Mustangs. I mean a classic Mustang yea. A modern one, not so much.

If you hold on to them (collect them), then they become old / classic!! In 1965 a mustang was a Modern car!! ;) In 2066, when all cars are electric, an s550 mustang will be an awesome classic muscle car!

Seems like a lot of money for some Ford Performance parts and badging, especially since you don't get to keep any of the take off parts. Not a fan of the hood.

If daily driven, I highly doubt the car will last that long without pretty much rebuild.
In 2066 there won't be gas cheap enough to run the car.
Or the fact if I will live that long unless somehow they can preserve my brain and put it in a different body.

I really like the hood, compliments the lines of the car really well, especially from the profile view.

Definitely paying a lot for badging though looking over the entire package.

$26k base Ecoboost + $18k Shelby GTE package = $44k

345hp & 385lbs torque, with track suspension, PP wheels, etc...

I don't know that's an interesting price point.

And you can finance all but 25% ($4,500) of the mods.

Pricey, but I like it, and I don't care for almost any of Shelby America's other offerings. Enhanced is the correct word for this.

It looks nice and tasteful, but I wouldn't pay that sort of money for some looky-loo parts and a cheap Ford Power Pack.

That being said, folks may want to look more closely at the Power Packs. Some warranted extra power, if they want to talk sh*t with the Camaro6 guys.

I love the hood. The front splitter is from the GT/CS. I like a lot of what's offered for what you pay. My biggest disappointment is that for $18K you still get those ugly ass PP wheels. :tsk:

I do think a nice set of new wheels would have lifted the look........but I guess that's in keeping with the low (in relative terms) entry price.

Looks superb in Lighting Blue.......and very interesting to see/hear of Ford Performance's input (I was watching a live feed from earlier)

As another person already said, but worth repeating, a big le sigh!

The only selling point of this, if you can even call it that, is that this car will retain value better than if you took a stock GTPP and added all this stuff yourself. Although in the end, with the lack of parts to take off (that shelby apparently keeps) and the cost of the package itself, I'm not sure if you will end up with more money in your pocket during resale time.

It will just be easier to sell this car vs. de-modding your car and then selling it. That's about it. Wooptie doo.

Reminds me of the BMW M235i: not an M car but looks like it, has performance extras and priced midway between the 228 and the M2.

I like the hood. Trying to imagine it without the stripes on my black GT. I can't find pics of the underside to see it is a true bulge or not though.
