So based on the OP this thread is what do we know or are we changing the thread to "what would we like to see".

Unless some Ford insiders on the forum wants to share, we really don't have any idea what may change for 2017. Maybe in a few months there might be some leaks but since there are no delivery's of 2016's yet I seriously doubt anything news worthy will released.

I really don't get this bone-headed decision. They went through the same thing with the Boss 302. The first year, you couldn't get the upgraded sync system. A bunch of people complained and sure enough, the second year it was offered.

It's certainly possible that they're doing it on purpose in order to boost second year sales - something I seriously doubt is necessary.
Well there was a concern about the pricing be close to a non Electronics Pack GT350R and dealers loading up all the regular GT350s with this package. The dealers are already doing a good job screwing up Ford Performance's hard work keeping the price down with the ADMs so in the end some of Ford's reasoning didn't matter.

10 speed auto anyone? Seriously though, the Mustang and Ford will be left behind the times if they don't have a dct/ zf 8 speed equivalent. I know that Ford refuses to put the auto/pp combo, auto focus/fiesta st/rs etc, but they must come to the modern era..

Everybody and their mom knows that the highest end exotic cars have NO manuals for a reason, and not even going to bother opening that can of worms..... and for shits and giggles, everybody does know that the auto is always faster than the manual.
I drove a 911 today.. with a manual.

Pretty fun. Good car.

Okay, I will be the first one to start the drooling over the next model year.

What do we know so far pertaining to the GT350 and GT350R for MY 2017?
With the 2015 Shelby GT350's still a few weeks away from delivery to the general public let alone the 2016 Shelby GT350's a much longer time away from delivery later this year do you really think that Ford will release any information on a 2017 MY that has not even been confirmed?

I simply want a button on the steering wheel that automatically lowers the rear head rests if they were left up by my kids.

Feces, automatics have no soul and Ford knows it...

Literally none of you have driven a 2016 and you're already looking ahead to 2017...
Sorry. Totally my bad. I agree, it's way too early to be even thinking about this subject.

I expect that you're going to be disappointed.
Are you suggesting that Ford will not build a 50th Anniversary Shelby GT500 model in 2017?

I can't imagine Ford heading in that direction and I will further suggest that for the 2018 MY Ford will build a 50th Anniversary Shelby GT500KR model.

Also keep in mind that the back in 1968 both the GT500KR and the GT350 were available in either a Fastback and for the first time in a Convertible model so watch for some sort of Special Edition Convertible GT500 in 2018.

The passion for following and repeating history at The Ford Motor Company is probably as strong as any automotive brand out there and that is one of the reasons that I have been loyal to them for almost 50 years.

It is very interesting and exciting times presently at Ford with the introduction of the 50th Anniversary for the Shelby GT350 and suggest that this exciting trend at Ford will continue into 2017 and 2018 model years based on Ford/Shelby's roots and history of the big block Shelby cars that first came out 1967 and 1968?

As a teenager back in the mid to late 60's it certainly was an exciting time to experience the great Shelby and Boss Mustangs and I am sure there are many other members on this forum that also remember those special times?

I would expect to see no significant changes. Maybe an "electronics package" equivalent for the regular GT350, but that's it. There will certainly not be an automatic. Maybe in a future GT500 though, as it matches the intent of that car much better.

My bet will be 2 new colors (silver, blue), new stripe package, and a bump up in HP & TQ, and a couple of new options.....IMO ;)
