Engine Failures - What do we know?

Like many of us, I'm wondering what we know as a fact about the 3-4 oil pump problems that have been reported...and why this wont happen to my car...as I want to mod it... (Long Tubes and a Tune)...

So, for those who have had a failure...can you share at what mileage it occurred at?
Any events happened that could be viewed in hindsight as a foreshadow to a future issue?
How soon and how many times did you go to redline if any?
Any similarity with builders, date of production?

We don't know much right now as at least two of them are having their cars looked at by Ford right now.

And i also don't expect these same owners to come out here and say things that might incriminate them as Ford monitors these forums very closely.
