The GT350 was developed as a track focused car to replace the Boss 302, Ford will come out with another high HP halo car (GT500) to compete with the Hellcat, ZL1, etc. The only thing is will it show up in 2017, I think it will.

I think 2017 will see GT500.
Question is will they build and sell the GT350 and GT500
at the same time?

Not unprecedented. Built Shelby and boss at same time. Two different cars with different target markets and goals.

I'm hoping for a 750+ hp gt500!!!!!!

Ps. But will be happy with any new version of the gt500 as long as its more power full than the last one.

More than likely Ford will deliver an Ecoboost powered GT500, maybe a twin turbo 5.0 or something similar (not the 5.2 FPC)

I hope that for 2017 a glass roof and the cloth Recaros become available with the tech package.

That's the current rumor according to Horsepower Kings dot com which will require an entirely new subject thread for this forum.

Not likely to see a glass roof on a track focused vehicle like the GT350.

By 2017 the dealers will have them sitting in a parking lot with bird crap splattered all over them. That is how it works with all this hot stuff once its not so hot anymore.

Anything from HPK does not deserve a thread at all.

Mr. Pericak:

Please.....

An "Electronics Pack" for the GT350 that's better than the cheap 6 or 7 speaker stereo and make sure it has NAV. If I can get it on the "R", why can't I get it on a TrackPack car?

A leather/alcantara option for the Recaro Seats (power/heat/cool would be nice, but not necessary)

Add Liquid Blue to the color palette.

On the regular GT350, keep the wheel/tire sizes the same, but please use rotary flow-form "forged" wheels to get the weight down without having to resort to 1-piece mono block forged wheels or carbon fiber wheels (see MRR Wheels, Model M350).

Thanks!

Has any HPK rumor ever come to fruition? That site is a pile of trash.

What we know about 2017. Nothing, but everyone can speculate really well and say what Ford should do.
Isn't there a way that instead of us telling each other what Ford should do, that we can collectively get that information to the people that matter at Ford?
Relying on the Ford employees that are paid to lurk forums is like hoping that the restaurant bus boy overhears you complaining to your date that they should offer prime rib on the menu.

10 speed auto anyone? Seriously though, the Mustang and Ford will be left behind the times if they don't have a dct/ zf 8 speed equivalent. I know that Ford refuses to put the auto/pp combo, auto focus/fiesta st/rs etc, but they must come to the modern era..

Everybody and their mom knows that the highest end exotic cars have NO manuals for a reason, and not even going to bother opening that can of worms..... and for shits and giggles, everybody does know that the auto is always faster than the manual.
Ford sold something like twice as many Focus STs as they expected to the first year they came out. I don't think the lack of an automatic has hurt the car ONE bit. Ford builds these cars for true enthusiasts - people who care more about the enjoyment of driving than ultimate performance.

If Ford put a dual clutch gearbox in the GT350 and ditched the manual like many exotic companies have, just because it may be marginally faster, I'd never consider buying one. Other companies are losing sight of what performance cars are all about - putting a smile on your face. And that's just something a set of paddles will never do.

It's super refreshing to see one manufacturer sticking with the stick and not going to autos or dual clutch transmissions, just because they're fashionable at the moment...

And most exotic manufacturers have dumped the manual entirely, simply because they don't sell. It definitely doesn't hurt that the latest DCTs can shift quicker than you ever could, but at the end of the day, if they only make up, say, 5% of sales, it's hard to justify continuing to produce a car with two different transmissions. Us "common" folk are far more appreciative of shifting gears ourselves, though, and Ford gets this!
