That's correct! actually, I would say a total of 10 quarts if you include the consumption testing.Im guessing he put in 8 quarts total over the timeframe... not all at once

Anyone know if starting with a short block is a new Ford practice?
In the past they’d never allow a dealer to open up a 5.2.
From my experience, the tech mentioned he had replaced motors before. On one of them he only replaced the short block. Ford will ask the tech to do a bunch of tests and check certain components to determine what can be salvaged.
The tech did mention he is not confident to replace anything in that engine due to the environment and tooling present at the shop. Its very dusty and the only quality control is him and some directions sent by Ford.
And yes, the engine it'self is not rated for boost. It just shares the same block as the GT500.
