Are you guys really getting MSRP? I've been trying for 5 months? any leads near california?
Near CA is the key issue with sticker or below.
Check the other thread post on leads, one just posted for $2400
under in TN. White no stripes car. Shipping costs included,
still under...

I just got my 2017 at MSRP. I had to search out of state because all of the dealers in CA were a lost cause. I found a lead for a 2017 allocation from this forum and I jumped on it. The dealer I ordered from set up a "courtesy delivery" to a dealer near me for $300, and Ford delivered it with no issue.

It took me 3 months from the day I ordered the car til it showed up in my town, and I see you've been hunting for a deal for 5 months...

I suggest you give up on CA and look elsewhere in the country.

+1 on going out of state. I got mine at MSRP out of state, I know quite a few other bay area folks did the same. Its 1-2k to ship it

so whats the best way ? cold call dealers? could you give me some leads? I can only afford this car if i get it near MSRP...... well principally. I allocated a certain amount after I sold my C7.

I honestly think that going in person ready to buy is the best way. Just talking over the phone puts you in the fishing category, and dealers don't want to reveal their lowest # on the phone because they don't know if you are serious.

I ordered a car 5 weeks ago after many negotiations, and thought I had a very good price. I recently went into a dealer and started dealing on a in-stock car and was able to get a better price on that car (although I didn't buy because it didn't have an option I wanted). The dealer wanted to make a sale that night, and he knew I was a serious buyer, and he worked hard to make the deal happen.

Now this won't work at some dealers, some just hold hard to their ADM's... I've been to one of those also. You will have to shop around IMO.

I found a Grabber Blue Convenience pack close to me in Sacramento for $10k over. The conversation started at $25K over but within minutes was reduced. I think the ability to go sub-5k over is very real. Just takes time and persistence.
Have your ducks in a row before calling so you can leave a CC deposit if necessary.

Livermore Ford, near San Fran., LB, sofa seats, last day of last month
they were at $3k over, that day only....come in right away.

To late to shoot up there, 300 miles away !

If still looking end of this
month, and they have it...start grinding them 2 days before and
catch a flight early morning, be home for dinner !

Not bad, I am in livermore and they had their 2016 cars starting at 20k over. I would have loved to pick one up from them for 3k over.
