Is Sync 3 a software update that us 2015 Mustangs can just plug into our cars or is a hardware upgrade and we kind of got screwed?
I believe from what I have read that new hardware is used.

You cannot upgrade to Sync 3 or the new screen system in the '15s.

Screens are completely different..old was resistive (current screen)...new is capacitive (think iPhone/iPad type).

Also there are completely different hardware/software/connections.

This question/subject has been :paddle: on this forum...lol. ;)

Yeah but no one really knows what the wiring will be like. It could very well be a plug-n-play replacement head unit. Expensive, yes, but the screen size is the same so I have hope!! :)

A Ford engineer commented on it in a video already, completely different wiring and system, not upgradable on 2015 MY.

If it was, they would provide an upgrade kit.

given that sync 3 is not on any production vehicles yet kits too early to tell if they will offer an upgrade kit. It would most likely be 4 figures but if there is demand enough they may make a kit.

it looks like you can't get the California Special with performance pack... Pitty.

A black CS with PP would look rater good, and i'd like the alcantara seats.

That's a bummer if that's true. I'll go aftermarket if they make a module that allows HVAC to work

It has always been that way since Ford introduced the PP with the CS being a "dress up" package- not objecting, I'm buying one for a commuter and do not need PP on it.

But I can understand the issue and frustration. I wanted an auto CS in 13 as a commuter in Grabber Blue....well guess what no GB. WTF--GB available on a GT, on the Boss 302, on the GT500 but not on the CS-- sometimes Ford goes a bit much in terms of packaging limitations.

I think the CS is seen as the 50th AP replacement, which was available with the PP. So that's why it seems odd they wouldn't do it. 50th AP is all dress up too. Would have actually made sense to restrict PP with 50th AP to make the 50th LEs more special.

Turn Signals

Keep some asswipe from driving 40 miles with his turn signal on in the fast lane.
I was going the Limit, and besides, how did you see me all the way from SoCal?

Photo is from OppoLock's repair, back in February.

Well, it looks like I will be modding the hood vents immediately after delivery. I understand the turn signals are a nod to the Mustang heritage but at the very least they could have just made that an option. I personally don't care for them and am perfectly capable of seeing a flashing green arrow on the dash. Bummer. As for the rest of the changes, mehhh. Nothing special.

Like I said, you have to provide proof (Evidence).

I've seen dozens of cars, personally. I've seen thousands of photos.

I've seen some very good cars, but they have all had problems to one degree or another. Show me a perfect car, and I will change my mind. Show me a 2016 that doesn't have a problem and I will change my mind, but all the preproduction 2016 cars I've seen photos of, have problems.

You may say that I've seen a small sample. That is correct.
But, every one of them has problems. They may be within tolerance, but they don't look right. From a couple feet back, they look pretty good. Even mine!

I'm still waiting and hoping to see that perfect car. I want Ford to succeed. Pointing-out these problems gives them incentive to improve. How bad do they want to fix these problems?
There is no such thing as a perfect car. If you want to be anal about every millimeter of every panel on a car go for it. The reality is, however, that it is virtually impossible to mass produce a "perfect" car given you have to allow for assembly tolerances, manufacturing tolerances, expansion tolerances, etc. Could Ford potentially tighten up it's allowed tolerances, perhaps, but from the several dozen cars I have seen in person there is absolutely nothing that has been bad enough for me to make issue about.
