Sad no PP for the autos, but oh well. Would be nice to get a 2016 without the stupid hood turn signals. I just want SYNC 3 vs ordering a 2015 with MFT.
I'm sure you can find a local 2015 owner who would be more than happy to swap hood vents with you.

Anyone know how big the screen is going to be for the base vehicle. Not as small as the 15' I hope, should be bigger to accommodate S3 right?
Sync3 is replacing MFT, not all sync systems. You still need the premium version (200A/201A or 400A/401A) to get Sync3. 050A/051A/100A/300A do not get sync3.

This has been quite a debate. While I don't think the stereo is THAT great, Ford would have to do a complete overhaul and tuning to get it fixed. Probably not something they wanted to deal with considering they were focusing on Sync3 which I think is more important (MFT is horrible IMO)
One large complaint was that its simply not loud enough (50% quieter than say the Shaker 500 in the previous models).

Is there anything to suggest they might have tweaked the amps at the very least?

I supposed since it is a new head unit, perhaps they could have done some additional tuning and adjustments, maybe? I haven't seen any documentation stating they did anything to the stereo, but I'm guessing we will never know until people can get their hands on them and try them out side by side.

Yeah i checked with my local dealer yesterday and it looks like we have to wait another ~3 weeks to order 2016s. I'm really tired of waiting; especially this wait before the real wait.

I toyed around with MFT on a 2015 on the lot for a good 45minutes and it's not horrible, and the UI is better than SYNC3s imho but it just doesn't have the performance or upgradeability I'm looking for.

MFT sucks IMO...
The new Sync3 is based on BlackBerry QNX. Android Auto/Apple CarPlay is the future.
Plus BlackBerry QNX = Hackable easily. And with build in Access Point i foresee solutions like AppRadio Unchained (google it for youtube demonstration).
With QNX the options are much MUCH better... True the interface of the Sync 3 currently sucks, but its Version 1.0, i am confident it will evolve....
Sync 3 is the main reason why i wait for the 2016 models.

I also drove to my local dealership and we have a daily email sync for him to check if orders are open for the 2016.

My assumption was that as soon as the order guide was released we will be able to start customizing and ordering.

I sure hope its not 3 weeks like you said, going nuts here :)

I wonder why HP/TQ are listed as TBD. Could Ford be playing it smart and waiting on Camaro launch to finalize the HP/TQ #'s for the '16 model year? I've heard the motor is underrated currently, so Ford could easily bump the HP # up to move it closer to Camaro estimate of 450HP. Ford did this once with the 2011 & 2012 cars rated at 412HP and 2013 bumped up to 420HP. Ford isn't going to let the HP gap be too large for people to think about if they are on the fence on what to purchase.
Maybe they can get it back up to Boss number - 444hp
There is no actual power difference between the 2011-12 GT and the 2013-14. Basically, just marketing in a way.

Regardless, power numbers are typically conservative, especially with performance cars. The 2015 GT is actually right around the stated numbers for the Boss in HP.

Road racing / autocross is what the PP is centered around. FWIW, though, the Torsen diff is the only high-torque capacity differential that Ford has for the Super 8.8" axle, since it was developed with the SVT torque level in mind. So, until the aftermarket provides a locker or spool for the carrier (or a 4-pinion clutch plate diff), the Torsen is the strongest rear end option the car has.
The Ford OEM Torsen in the S197 and now the S550 is the most robust Torsen design of them all. They will take a fair amount of drag race launch beating where the aftermarket ones won't.

Interesting you mention this. All three S550's I've been in with the Shaker system seems under powered to my 2012. Actually, my ex's 2014 Shaker did too.

The aftermarket Torsen diffs were designed 20 years ago, when Mustangs still had pushrods and 300+ HP was exotic. The design targets were much higher for S197, and higher still for S550, so its a lot different now. Its not easy to package the kind of torque density that the car now requires...

If I was Ford I'd build the Sync3 so that it used the same connections as the previous version S2/MFT. Less stuff to reimagine. And thus would be an easy "swap"... unfortunately I don't think we'll be getting Sync3 for a while over here in Europe.

Just got a call from my dealer. He confirmed 2016 ordering is open.
I think you can put an order in but it's just in a hold slot with the dealer till they actually get the pricing in the system.
