I don't think anybody is complaining about Sync3, I think people are just thinking it's pretty dumb to make a decision of a car purchase based on what more or less useless infotainment system it is going to have. For some people (including me) it's just a very small piece of the whole vehicle, as long as it plays music (which it does) and receives phone calls though BT connected phone (does as well), it really doesn't make a diference what number is beside word "Sync", what operating system it is based on and what is the response time of the touchscreen. It's obvious it is going to be nicer, but there are people out there that don't really care, they'd rather have fun driving their cars half a year earlier.
Fully agree with this post. But, I'm coming from a 2004 Nissan to a 2015 Mustang so honestly Sync 2 is awesome in my eyes as I've never had a car with bluetooth capabilities much less a touch screen. This car is a blast to drive and literally can't wait to drive it right after it's parked lol. If the stereo plays music, especially wirelessly through my phone, I'm set. Anything else for me is gravy.

Pretty much this haha

This Sync 3 nonsense reminds me of apple telling us we absolutely have to upgrade ios 7 to 8 (or whatever the hell their system is called).

I bet Cobb is already working on a Sync 3 Stage 1-10 tune. It will be so powerful that all tyres will explode from the torque increase once you synchronize your iphone with Sync 3.
 My homie! Let me buy you a virtual beer!

It will be so nice to have Sync 3 with "finally" a touch capacitive screen !! It will now have so many more features and a better overall feel. It will just be like touching the screen of a smartphone !! Cant wait. This will make the s550 even better than the old school MFT that sometimes requires numerous touches to simply activate a certain function. So many awesome features of the s550, and yes this is just a minor one that will make the car even better now !!!

I'd prefer not to.

Driving gloves + capacitive touch screens = no bueno.

How many people actually drive with driving gloves? lol
You ever drive in the winter when the steering wheel is so cold it's painful to touch? Or in the summer when the sun is beating down on you?

This whole cutover to sync 3 confuses the piss out of me.

So the base (non-touch) screen will be Sync 2 with the premium Sync 3? God - Ford sucks at cutover change.

Never in the summer. I have once in a while in the winter but take them off after a while cuz my hands get too warm. The gloves I do use have pads in the fingers that let you use a phone screen. They have pads on the fingertips like these: http://www.amazon.com/Dragonpad-Sma...=1427314853&sr=8-4&keywords=smartphone+gloves

Actually, you really shouldn't be confused because technically the cutover has not even happened yet. There have been no details released, only speculation. I am sure that when the new product line is is ready for order that we will understand what Ford is really doing.

I wear sunblocking gloves in the summertime -- I'm extremely sensitive to sunburns, so I try not to let any of my skin ever get any kind of direct sunlight, and I've gotten burns on the backs of my hands from driving many times before. Hand-sunburns are painful.

Its all in the naming... Sync with My Ford Touch will get a stake through the heart and be replaced with Sync 3. Sync 2, not to be confused with any sort of touch screen interface, will live on. Microsoft has already been brought on to do the software updates for Sync 3, so that should be 'interesting' to say the least.

So this is what will be seen in the cars on "patch Tuesdays"?
Just replace 'PC' with 'car'...

I kid, distilled down all MS is doing is hosting the cloud space for the updates, I'm sure it will be fine.
I appreciate the mixed emotions on MFT & Sync3, and I hope everyone gets what makes them happy. I'll be interested if they rebate out the MFT equipped cars when the Sync3 ones start to show up? When I was looking at Chargers there were R/T Plus trimmed cars with the 4.3" screen instead of the 8" uConnect (supply issues) and the dealers were dropping them $2000 because of it. How much off the price would they have to go for you to take a '15 MFT instead of a '16 Sync3 with all else being equal?
