Prices I found:

Are you really that bad at common sense and math?

First as stated, you are too low as you got wrong part and missing parts. Then, you cherry picked the biggest difference parts. But let's use your numbers anyway.

That's 22% savings over msrp (which was numbers used earlier). So, 78% of 8400 is still 6500$. Which is still much more than the 2500$(ish, don't remember the exact amount for pp).

Are you really so proud of your OPINION that you want to prove me wrong so bad that you'll forget your initial point?

I'm with Brent. Ain't worth my time. I'm out.

Not sure why you're getting your panties all ruffled about it.

First off, no one's arguing about the merits of the PP or the price. It's great value for the money. No argument there. It's saying the PP has a value of ~$9000 is where I go... wait what?

It's bit of a silly argument where. And now you're whining about below msrp prices? :frusty:

Strut Tower + K Brace $180 http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/M20201M/2015-Mustang-Ford-Racing-Strut-Tower-Brace-GT
Brembos $1220 http://fordracingpartsbydonwood.com...mance-pack-6-piston-front-brake-kit-m-2300-v/
Torsen Diff $820 http://www.tascaparts.com/ford/mustang/fr3z4026c/ (Pretty sure that's it, call me out if I'm wrong)
Radiator $450 http://www.tascaparts.com/ford/mustang/fr3z8005b

Suspension stuff:
Personally, as I've said, I'd go aftermarket, honestly. However the parts themselves are dirt cheap.
Front PP Sway bar is $60, Rear Sway is like $35.
Bushings? Cheap. Not gonna look em all up.
Springs? Again, cheap. Although parts catalog didn't seem to note a difference in springs.
Rear Shocks ~$130

Not touching tires/rims and cosmetic stuff. If that's "cherry picking," then so be it. The big ticket items of the PP come right at $3000 or so. Of course, you have to factor in time/money for installation, but still. Moral of the story, if you have a chance to get PP and you want it, get it. If you want or have an automatic, you'll have to build it out yourself, but it's not gonna cost you anywhere near $9000. Let's be real.

But, apparently I'm bad at math too, and I haven't done research.

FYI Brembos are even cheaper, just check fordparts.com or good the part # of the calipers, rotors and pads. I've found it for about $800 for those 3 items needed (plus dust shields if you want them they're only $10-15 each side extra).

Was my point too. The prices quoted at $8-9k are bull and misinformation and some of have auto and COULDN'T get the PP

If I recall, there's also a $50 core charge per caliper too, so add an extra $100.

FR3Z1125D PP rotors $98.67 each from Tasca
FR3Z-2B120-E PP calipers $250.69 each from Tasca
FR3Z-2001-C brake pads full set $217.64 from Tasca (or use aftermarket pads for cheaper)
FR3Z-2K005-B splash shield $4.60 each

Reuse the bolts as the are the same on reg and PP GTs (or new caliper bolts are about $1.30 a piece)

Simple math that's how. Ok they're $900 full OEM setup with the OEM pads but I wouldn't pay $217 for brake pads; that's insanely priced and OEMs are dusty.

I'd go aftermarket pads for $100-150 honestly. As I said $800-850 for Brembo swap.

Yup I laid out the part list. Idk why people don't do research for themselves before questioning others

$800-900 is all it costs to swap in brembos (depending if you go OEM pads which are crazy proced at $217 or aftermarket which a good Hawk set can be $150) if you Google the part # and get the cheapest as parts vary a lot.

Anyone paying some reseller $1200-1400+ for the Brembo kit is getting ripped off by a good $300 or more.

I mean I'm not debating the PP is worth it or not, I have an auto so it wasn't even an option frankly.

But to say theyre giving you $8-9k of parts for $2,500 is TOTAL misinformation. The same $32k base GT person A buys is the same $32k base GT person B buys with the PP tacked on.

You're already paying for 4 piston brakes, the oem radiator, all of that- same price in the base car price. Then you buy the PP to upgrade those parts to others instead of putting the base GT stuff on. So you are really getting whatever the difference in the price between the base and PP part costs.

It's NOT just slapping on the PP part costs at full MSRP and saying oh well you're getting $8-9k for $2,500. No no no, you're getting the value of the PP vs base GT per part in the PP

So for the Brembos- the parts are $900 using the OEM pads. Say your base GT brakes cost $600 in parts (just a guess without looking). That means out of the $2,500 PP your brakes make up $300 of that price, NOT $900 or $1200 or whatever has been tossed around.

It's the same way with the Recaros. You can't just go out and get the OEM Recaros for $1,500- the upgrade price. That $1,500 factors in not putting in the OEM seats that come with the GT. The $1,500 is just the price difference between your OEM seats and what the Recaros cost full price.

I dont want to drag on the debate but lets at least use correct information to begin with. I jut don't know where people get the idea that Ford is trying to help you out from the goodness of its heart; no i's making money and you're paying for the upgrade price in full, maybe a little more even because Ford has to make a profit on packages.

FWIW, the illustration shown on that link depicts a bevel gear clutch differential. Have to double check the service part number, since Ford assigns different numbers for service compared to production (even though the part is the same).

Keep in mind the PP axle also buys you the 3.73:1 gears with the Torsen, so the $820 (if that's the service price on the Torsen) only gets you part of that upgrade. You also would have to consider the cost of the R&P set as well to be fair. Whether you want that ratio is another question; for the sake of comparing prices of PP components, though, it ought to be considered.

One other thing to consider here, in package price comparisons is package price versus retail price (for individual parts) versus Ford cost. Yes, if you look at adding up the retail of all that, you can say "Ford is selling $9000 in parts for $3000". Others have stated that its more like Ford is selling $2000 worth of parts for $3000. In a sense, both are correct - Ford is doing this to make a profit and offering this option to add to that. What you have to keep in mind is that they are paying a fraction of those retail prices for the parts from their vendors. In my own experience, that retail price is somewhere in the rough ball park of a 3X mark up. So they can make a comfortable profit on the package price as an option, and make one heck of a profit on the retail sales of the parts.
