It adds up to a lot of money. To equip with a PP radiator vs a stock one doesn't cost Ford $640. Maybe $50 more? I don't know, but if you replace the stock unit later then it would cost YOU $640. They were putting a radiator on the car anyway, but on a PP a little more expensive one. Same for most other major components. PP parts come from a bin like anything else and the choice to equip a PP car obviously doesn't cost Ford more than $2500 total.

It's a bargain for me because I don't have replace those parts later. Buying the factory wheels from Ford? Exact replacements are more like $1k apiece. Thank goodness that Ford Racing wheels are so much cheaper. The differences are slight (I think) so I can't figure out why the huge price difference.

Go add the parts up they add up quick....

Rims 1200
Tires 1000
Strut tower brace 265
Brembos 1500
Torsen rear complete 1500 but that is for a 2011 to 2014 the IRS assembly will be more.
dash/gauge pack 900
Radiator 640
Sway Bar 200?
K brace 160
Springs 150?

There is more to the PP then what is listed. I may be forgetting a few.
Metal bushings?
Monotube shocks?
PP lower valance 160
PP belly pan 500
Quick access oil pan one bolt vs six $?

Remember these are all SALE prices. From Ford it's all more.

Can't put a price on tuning for chassis or EPAS or abs
You can't get the toggles or drive modes. Though you could buy the dash piece with the toggles for 800.

This is buying stuff new and somethings at discounted prices.

It's 8 to 9k in sale prices! and some parts you have to look at last year items since things are not availible yet and you can put money on the 2015 stuff is more expensive.
While I agree the prices are a bit off. The Brembos are about $800- $250 per caliper, $100 per rotor and $200 for the OEM pads (or cheaper using aftermarket pads) on fordparts.com

You can get nicer rims/tires for that price than the crappy Pirellis and wider rims for wider tires. My setup Niche 20x10 sqaure on 275 Nittos was $1800 with TPMS. I also sold my stock 18s for a $500 net profit (after shipping etc), so $1300 total. Plus you're not factoring in the value of the OEM wheels saved factored into the base car cost in the PP price (the car costs the same invoice price and then they swap the wheels for PP so the 18s cost is saved)

The center gauges really aren't an essential part to have or not have for performance; subjective need really.

Strut tower brace from Ford racing with the K brace is $183 on CJPP with the 8% forum discount (originally $199)

PP radiator is $519 through Lethal Performance.

Most people trash their springs anyways to lower PP or not. Most $250-300.

Swaybars you have FRPP, BMR, Steeda- about $400 for front and back.

The 1/2" bigger splitter and belly pan are more looks than essential.

Truthfully you could build a performance-wise similar build with Brembos, radiator, better springs, Strut brace/K brace and sway bars for about $2,100. Add your own choice in tires/wheels, $2,000-2,500 and sell your OEM (-$500 to $1,000 depending which set you have from the factory). That's not counting selling the OEM springs/radiator/sway bars that you take off- even if you only get $500 for all of that on the cheap.

You're not at a ton of money really. It can be done for $2500-4000 depending what wheel/tire setup you choose and how much you get for your OEM parts.

It's not to say the PP is a bad deal but you can get a more customized setup building it yourself for not a ton more money. Plus you can make an auto the same as a PP which you cannot buy.

Challenge accepted. Original quote:

Prices I found:
I agree, see my post above yours that the prices are wrong.

You have the wrong gauges though. Thats the cluster with speedometer etc. You need the whole dash panel with the holes for the gauges that comes with the gauges.

But its NOT necessary and doesn't affect the car's performance one bit.

You can make a PERFORMANCE WISE very similar car, while a LOT more customized with better than PP parts, with your own choice of wheels/tires which are better than the crap Pirellis the come on the PP many chance out anyways for about $3k after you sell the OEM parts you take off even on the cheap. Just as stated on the last page.

People seems to be greatly overlooking a lot of the PP guys upgrade half of the PP parts to begin with to the aftermarket in my example (springs, sways, wheels/tires specifically). The statement that this is more of a marketing gimmick than true performance pack holds true too. They arent anywhere near the BEST or even average parts you can get for the track by any stretch of the word.

Really? Arguing over this?

Getting the performance pack is defenitly worth the money. Wheels, brembos, and the torsen make up for the 3k already.

Id have grabbed the PP if it had square wheels and was available with a 3.55 dif ratio. Its just too much in ongoing costs as is.

Up front cost didn't factor into the choice too much.

every week someone argues about the pp. this is nothing new...the naysayers always justifying why they didn't get it and people who have it trying to convince those to get it. same fight every week.

For 3k you can't go wrong. It's the vital option too get if you're on a budget IMO. Forget all the leather and everything else, get the PP

Now that the fight is over, maybe someone will help with my question...

The original post mostly describes new options offered on 2016 models.
I read through the next 3 pages, but didn't find the information I seek, so I'll post the question.

What are the 2015 vs 2016 Ecoboost model changes, improvements & standard features?
For example, I saw that the base 2015 has 17" X 7.5" Sparkle Silver Painted Aluminum Wheels standard & the 2016 has 18" X 8" Magnetic-Painted Machined Aluminum Wheels standard.

Thank you!

There isn't much of a difference.

The only new things the ecoboost recieved are the new 18" base wheels, SYNC 3, Blacked out roof option and the optional pony package.

It explains why I wasn't able to find more information. :)

It appears SYNC 3 is a large leap forward. Thanks!

It is, I'm defenitly jealous of 16' owners for that reason.
you probably don't even use mft enough to be jealous and half it's use is on the wheel and then you might have to touch it to control the air. unless you have nav, sometimes you have to touch it.

i'm certainly not. I couldn't have my sons as the background on sync3 anyways  unless that's a future update to sync3
