Not sure is this is the best section to post this question. If not I can move it.

Was told they are 2016 Cobra Jet engines that had enough runs on them that they need gone through. Not sure if the Cobra Jet program had a certain number of runs before they needed to go through them that is just what I was told.

Are you buying them and who’s the selling source, someone with reputation or just some FB market place person?

You would need part numbers from the engine to determine if it’s all Super CJ components.

Sorry I forgot the question I guess. Was wondering what they are worth. They aren’t listed for sale but I was going to try and make an offer. They don’t know much about them other than they were pulled because they were passed the number of runs allowed. I dont know much at all about the Cobra jet program though. Just looking for a coyote for a swap and came up on this. I did see that the block has weld repair on what I circled in red.

All the numbers I wrote down are FR3E-6C064-CB

The owner is reputable. I’ll add the pictures I have of the only numbers I could find.

Based on what I’m seeing and I’d like @LevittownFordParts to offer some input since they have the ability to dissect the Ford Engineering part numbers stamped on the block/heads and the printed QR/bar code decals seen in your images.

Since you have said you believe the engine is from a 2016 SCJ, the QR with the “5.0” on it would be correct for engine displacement for that year.

2008-2012 CJ = supercharged 5.4 Modular V8.
2013*-2016 CJ = supercharged 5.0 Coyote
*2013 CJ = only year it was Twin Turbo’d to be eligible for NHRA stock regulations and the TT was capped at 435hp
2018 CJ = supercharged modified Coyote variant, the 5.2 Voodoo.

The Ford Engineering Part # for a 2016 SCJ replacement engine would have been:
M-6007-SCJ16

The SCJ engine was the Ford Performance Aluminator Crate Engine that had slight mods that made it the “Super Cobra Jet”. It was also comprised of 75% off the shelf stock production parts.

In your images, the white bar code decals that have the “SCJ” designation at the end would be the “Super Cobra Jet” identifier but IIRC the label may apply to the part, not the engine block coding.

The “BOSSM” on the QR code decal I believe is another SCJ identifier.

To really know if what’s inside is STILL all genuine SCJ, you would have to pop the oil pan off, valve covers or even deeper, the heads to ensure that the hardware is in fact all genuine SCJ. The hardware has specific Ford Engineering #’s that designates those parts as specific SCJ parts.

Your last pic in Post #7 above:
All SCJ’s from the Cobra Jet Program were all “body in white”, none had an actual VIN, none had a title, and these cars were not able to be registered through any US DMV agency (ie: totally not legal to drive on the street as a “car”). The stamped 6-digit number seen in your image would have had a VIN in that location or elsewhere on a flat surface of the block. That 6-digit identifier although NOT a VIN, has some correlation either back to the original “body in white” it was built for OR some correlation to the SCJ Program (whether built for a body in white or built and sold through the Ford Performance moniker of the time - because now FP is known as “Ford Racing” again).

To purchase a 2016 SCJ S550 back then, it was only sold through Ford Performance as “M-FR500-CJ” and the cost for the complete car was $99.9k at that time (excluding 2 additional options which would be the wheelie bar for $2k and the exterior Snake graphics package which was $1.3k). A replacement engine through Ford Performance (again at that time) was upwards of $23k…

Not my images, but here’s some specific 2016 SCJ engine images displaying some of the very unique parts that came with the 2016 SCJ engine:

I think I have the correct vehicle and engine. If so, this ^ link is to the Owners Manual.

Starting on printed page 19 is the maintenance schedule.

Change engine oil every two events.

Tear down, inspect and refresh the engine after 50 runs.

O2 sensors: replace every 50 runs.

Spark plugs: check every 10 runs, replace every 20.

There is a note to inspect and evaluate the engine block for replacement after each season.

The cars had an intercooler which used ice. The manual recommends using ice each pass, "For maximum performance and longevity."

Edit:

Last two pages of the manual list some service specs and POCs for the program.

I'd give my left nut to have that parked under the hood of my '15.

The QR code sticker is the only one I could pick up on.
Engineering # CR3E 6006 AC = Part # CR3Z-6006-D Current Retail Price $16,458.67 and plenty of them are still available.

As for usage it comes up as 2013-2014 Modular 5.0 shown below
