Please pay attention to the time from 7:17 - 7:36 of this review of the 2016 Camaro. This guy has level-headed reviews of all types of vehicles. You should check out his you tube channel...
I do like suburuwrx. I am subscribed and watch a lot of his content. And yes of course you could get used to it. I mean he had to if he is reviewing the car. You could get used to a lot of things but that doesnt mean they arent bad either.

Now draw a red line from the top of the steering wheel going forward. See how the steering wheel sits higher? So are you saying that steering wheels impeded your sight lines?

Belt line is higher, but I'm sure belt lines on Hyundais are lower than a Mustang. It's a sports car dude. The 1 1/2 to two inches is nominal.

If spacey, sporty cars were your requirement, what not a challenger? Or a Charger, or even a SS?

The rear of the car is an more difficult, but overcome easily by being able to drive. The Mustang has a bad over the shoulder changing lane problem too. Nothing any reasonable adult shouldn't be able to handle. My wife does with no complaints.

I dont think you are understanding me. The wheel is maybe a half inch of width, it of course will not impede as much as the giant gauge which doesnt have a whole in it. below the top of the steering wheel is a giant gap maybe what, 4 inches from the top of the wheel to the middle? where you can use to see. obviously that makes it easier to see.

and yes i am well aware its a sports car, but even the corvette doesnt have that bad of sightlines as the camaro. Just because it is a sports car doesnt mean it is ok to have such bad sight lines or such a cramped interior. Of course its not black and white but there is a big difference between having a large interior for a sports car like a challenger, and the mustang which i think is reasonably spacey vs the camaro having a quite tight interior. its not like the camaro is a small super car like a ferrari or something. its a big car with a small interior which is annoying.

again, you are not listening. I am not saying that it is undriveable. I am saying its sightlines were much worse than i was expecting coming straight out of the mustang. Noticeably so. If you can look past that then good for you, but for many people, including a lot of car enthusiasts, that is a major deal breaker.

I think is pure insanity to pay $45 to $65 grand on a national car over a BMW. Of course, they both depreciate but BMW holds the value waaaaay more. If you are a guy like me, who only keep the cars until the warranty expires, and IF I could afford that amount, I would NEVER look into any national brand. If anything goes wrong with the BMW under warranty, you are gold, just like any national brand...but still, you will never gonna have the same quality and "status" don't matter if is a stupid hellcat, or GT350/R over a BMW that costs the same. This is only my opinion, who have a car, and like to drive quick on the city, but dont waste my money with mods or going to places to race. Each one have their own opinion...and I respect that.

You are going to ruffle some feathers ...There is or at least was a fairly sizable contingent on the forum that swore up and down the Mustang is on par with BMWs interior and that there were droves of M3 buyers were considering mustangs....

I love the Mustang but I still havent found a buyer that switched from BMW to Mustang....I have seen multiple Mustang owners move to BMW, however.

I had bmw, mercedes, a bmw m3 on order-canceled it and got a gt500

I haven't read this entire thread but my son and I stopped by a local Chevy dealer yesterday (Sunday, they were closed) and sitting outside were two '16 SS models and one was unlocked.

We got in and I while it's an improvement over the previous car, the interior was nowhere near the Mustang IMO. The visibility out of that interior would prevent me from buying it. Period. I also thought the gigantic HVAC vents in the console were very strange.

I liked the way the car looked on the outside (mostly) but couldn't live with that interior.

A vette is way more of a sportscar than stang/camaro, yet i can see much better out of a vette. If the stang can do it, why couldnt the camaro do it? They are nearly the same in dimensions. Chevy wanted to play it safe and keep the similar design. Guess what that means, also keeping a major design annoyance from the previous gen. A sportscar yet I cannot sit at its lowest position and so I have to raise the seat to sit like im in a sedan.

I test drove a fully loaded 16' SS the other day and one thing I can say I noticed, immediately upon sitting down the seat was very well cushioned compared to our mustangs. I felt like it had memory foam or something. Also, it was 20 degrees out and the steering wheel heater warmed up the wheel in a matter of a few seconds. Much faster than I have experienced with a BMW I previously owned.

Other than that meh. It's different. A big improvement over their pervious gen. I didn't like how the infotainment screen tilted down. The tray where you can set your phone to wirelessly charge blew my mind. Although it was in a awkward position behind the center console kinda out of reach. They should of put it in the tray in front of the shifter so you can just throw your phone there when you get in and have it charge. Of course your phone has to have this capability built in, which a lot of phones are starting to.

Then of course it had the HUD, displaying all the sweet information right in front of you on the front window shield. I don't have a fully loaded GT so I actually don't know if this is something we can get in a mustang. Other than that not much to complain about. Nicely done Chevy. Still wouldn't trade it for my mustang.

There is really no comparison for me. Two totally different design languages.

I LOVE the mustang's airplane wing dash combined with the classic double brow. The premier trim and PP dash highlight it perfectly. It is one of my favorite interior designs in any car, and it still manages to be timeless and grown up. I think the Camaro's interior just looks too childish for me. Too shouty, too transformers.. it matches the exterior well. Hey, a lot of people love it though!

This is just once again a "Mirror guys" vs. "Turn your head" guy debate where neither side realizes what their real differences are. WRXFAN is clearly a mirror guy. Guys that hate the Camaro's sightlines are almost always turn your head guys. The mirror guys never move their head so they don't get what the big deal is. The turn your head guys can see MUCH LESS compared to other cars and wonder WTF is wrong with the mirror guys. Just gotta realize what camp someone is in. Turn your head guys will never be satisfied with the Camaro and will always think it is odd.

In that guy's review the rearview mirror's view of the back window is ridiculous though!

My god, I think you nailed it for me, personally. I very rarely turn my head to look behind me anymore. With mirrors and blind-spot mirrors, I almost exclusively use those when driving without failure. I've done it in every car I've driven. Even when I drive someone else's car, I find myself adjusting mirrors as soon as I sit down. I did it in the EB I drove, the Challenger I drove, and I did it immediately in the Camaro and I didn't find myself complaining about lack of visibility whatsoever.

I used to be a "turn your head" guy until I saw this diagram. Once I adjusted my mirrors just to the point where I cannot see the side of my car unless I move, I found that I no longer needed to turn my head.

It is amazing how many people have no clue how to set their mirrors. I admit, 5 years ago that was me too.

Sometimes you misunderstand too though, though I agree with the general point. Yes, the Camaro's new interior is improved. Some people though think certain parts of it are ugly enough to be a deal breaker hence "ugh that's garbage" -- a few have commented on that bizarrely tacked on screen, and the endless dash plastic with no trim, the tiny buttons shoved under the oversized screen when there is TONS of dash left over...the weird vent placement (although that was done to improve visibility).

It's got some pretty quirky weird parts.

I mean. If you're a badass who wears a kilt those vents are probably amazing. Haha!

I do agree that the dash is still pretty meh. However it's still an improvement over the previous gen. ESPECIALLY the 2010-2011 dash.

After having my 2016 Convertible, I love the interior improvements over the 5th Gen!

Dash: I actually like having the large "plain" part - it's more relaxing to me. All the buttons being centrally located under the radio screen are very convenient to me. And the number of options when configuring the digital speedo area - unreal!

Vents: I've found that focusing the A/C vents on the center of my body with a larger vent, I get cooled off quicker than in my 2012 when I had the smaller ones going towards my face.

Seats: No comparison on the improvements - Very comfortable. I like being "encased" a little more in this car than I was in my 2012.

Visibility: Adjusting the mirrors properly, I still have no problem with visibility.

Plastic: I don't mind it on the doors, but the hump over the center needs to go, regardless if it's a tribute to earlier models or not. And the "kneepads" are basically hard plastic with a VERY thin layer of padding. Not worth any extra money.

I do like the Mustang's storage capacity much better. And the separate levers to switch between modes are a great touch. With the Camaro, you have to push the button & cycle through the modes - it's easier just to flip a switch.
