Actually, if the Mustang gets sync 3 next year then no one will buy the Camaro. Game over.

Honestly, from my buying pattern, I really do not care what Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Yugo, etc does next year. Mine will be a 2015 GT and will stay that way for a long time. Since I will not be racing Camaro or any other cars down the road, they can go ahead and be higher power, lighter, fly or whatever. But I know I do not have the majority opinion here. :)

Yah I don't care about the others either BUT Ford might change up some minor things here or there (packages, colors, etc) which might intrigue many of us...especially wheels/paint.

Ah!, so the two are not mutually exclusive. Good information. Do any current cars have this dual technology?
My very superficial understanding of the problem is that the port injection helps keep the combustion by-products in liquid form, thus retarding build-up. Will our oil catch-cans also help with this problem?
The Ford GT will have both injection systems in the V/6 engine. Google other car companies for more information.

My prediction is that Ford is going to bump up the power for the 2016 Mustang.

Please NO direct injection unless you combine port injection with it. Most car companies that have gone with direct injection learned that port injection was required . GM didn't pay attention and went direct injection only and is having problems with the C7 engine. Oil in the intake and carbon build up on the valves. Don't these engineers read about other car companies besides the big three.
All the Ford 4cyl (and 4cyl turbo) engines have had direct injection since 2011.

If I had to guess I'd say the Camaro will be dead even or just a few pounds more than the Mustang trim level to trim level. As for power I am guessing right at 440 HP. As usual they won't step on Corvettes toes at 455 and 460 HP. Now as for torque the LT1 or whatever variation they use will have the lead with at least 450 lb/ft.

And GM can keep their stupid cylinder deactivation crap. I am ecstatic we don't have those systems on our 5.0. :)
