Think of the next SVT (GT350, unless Topnotch is about to drop a bomb on us!) as the replacement for the Boss 302. So, a nice balanced chassis, more about track prowess than outright power.

The 5.2 motor has been rumoured for a long time. Either with a flat plane crank or a cross plane crank (certainly the latest prototypes sound more like a CPC).

The could well be a GT500 in a couple of years, and I'd look for a turbo version of the GT350 engine............but that's pure speculation for now.
Ok, your statement makes more sense to put the SVT in the same place as 302 N/A with high rev engine (I'll buy into that). But you're saying, they sill going to have a F/I GT500 replacement?
I wish Ford would give us a clean roadmap so we can make plan to wait or not.

Thank you for the reply!

Unfortunately, Ford will never show their hand.......or rather their product plans for the coming years. All we can go on are snippets of info from sources we know to be reliable.....and there are a few on here, although they are quieter than ever, now, but we have to respect that.

The info on the GT350 is strong...........many were expecting to see it at New York, but it now appears it'll be later this year.

GT500, much less is known about, but give it time :)

or....S550R

will know later today
you will know or everyone will know

fingers crossed for press release from Ford

it is pretty conspicuous the sources have disappeared a bit, hopefully a sign that ford is in the last stage of preparing for presenting the SVT car to the public.

I am guessing we are either going to get a "soft launch" kinda like the GT in December 13 with some information but no final details before the GT/Base order guide comes out or we will get the full details all at once at some point in the fall but nothing before that.

Indeed. DMV didn't pay us his weekly visit

From almost daily spyshots of the GT350, and a few videos, we now have.................nothing. S550 is like a drug, I just can't get enough. I've been lucky enough to see it in person now and...........I want MORE. MORE!!! I NEED GT350 NEWS!!!

So...... does this mean you are finding out about a S550-based Cobra Jet or a race version of a hipo S550.... i.e. GT350R perhaps?
