2015 SVT?

GTsquid

Guest
That has not been the case for many years now. SVT Mustangs are all built on the same assembly line as all the other Mustangs. Engines are still had assembled and sent to the production line for install, but the SVT cars still go down the same line as base and GT cars.
I think he was referring to engineering/design/testing etc as opposed to actual assembly
Yes didn't mean "build" literally, more like develop. I know it's actually built at FRAP.

The next SVT Mustang is scheduled right now to be released in the summer(June/July) of 2015. Most vehicles(I can not think of one that was not) released this late in the year have the Model Year connotation of the next year. Which would make it the 16 SVT Mustang. But some state clearly this is wrong.

Hell even the Feb 2010 release of the Mustang GT 5.0 was called the 2011 Mustang GT.
Man, you're still on this?

Why do you want to argue against what is clearly in the order banks? It could change, but until it does, you are on the wrong side of facts.

It really does not matter to me. If Ford wants to have a 3+ month run or whatever, it is their business.

The bottom line is that this vehicle will not be out for another 13-14 months. And when you say it will be a 15 MY designation everyone jumps to the conclusion that it will be out by Oct of this year 2014. :clap2:

Is it fair to assume the SVT will be SC and not TT?
If yes, will they use the one fromGT500?

BTW, is the new SVT going to be based on the new 5.0 liter DI?

It's not even fair to assume it will have forced induction of any kind. In fact, the rumors have been stating that it will be N/A.

Really? Then what would be the engine size?
You must be new here. :)

Rumors have been going around for almost a year that it will be 5.2L. Supposedly it will be Coyote-based and that is about as much displacement as they can reliably handle. It's not going to be a 600hp+ beast like the GT500.

Yes, I'm new here... :)
But I honestly don't buy that rumor, because Ford is not going backward on their high end when Chevy and Dodge are pushing towards more HP and FI. Just my personal logic. Unless they put a 427 in there

Think of the next SVT (GT350, unless Topnotch is about to drop a bomb on us!) as the replacement for the Boss 302. So, a nice balanced chassis, more about track prowess than outright power.

The 5.2 motor has been rumoured for a long time. Either with a flat plane crank or a cross plane crank (certainly the latest prototypes sound more like a CPC).

The could well be a GT500 in a couple of years, and I'd look for a turbo version of the GT350 engine............but that's pure speculation for now.
