I saw the base GT is not getting the "selectable driving modes" but the premium EcoB and premium GT are getting them. Never knew that. Ford has kept advertising that the new Mustang will have selectable modes but failed to say it was only on premium models. I knew about the other things like the different trim, speakers, touchscreen, and rear diffuser.

O well, at least I got the performance pack!

They've also been saying that the GT will beat the previous generation Boss 302 around a track. However, I think that's WITH the performance package. Correct me if I am wrong. Not unlike any manufacturer to advertise their product with the optional upgrades on to get you enticed.

GT Transmission Update

In the 2015 PIB, on Page 7, it says:

6-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION
The 6-speed manual transmission in Mustang features a new shift
linkage design for shorter shifter throws
. Positive internal shift
stops and full gear synchronization provide confident and smooth
overall shift feel.

I wonder if you can update the shifter and linkage in a 2012 & 2013 GT/Boss 302 using these pieces

I also wonder if this is all they did to improve the manual trans. over the outgoing models MT-82? I know a bunch of people who put a new shifter in their 2011-2014 and they still had a lot of issues with this trans.

I hope it's much better as I would prefer the manual over the auto even though the auto is probably quicker and more consistent!

Why is the track width of the convertible slightly more? (0.2in F & R)

2015 GT Premium AT
GT 300A shows "diamond mesh" dashboard, while Premium shows "brushed aluminum." Can I trade, LOL?

More interestingly, the 6speed AT for the GT claims to bundle with remote start, paddle shifters (which we knew) AND a 3.55 rear. That would be a surprise. My order shows 3.15 gears. If true, it would explain the unexpectedly-low AT gas mileage. I'm hoping for a typo.

3.55 is an option.

You're welcome.
I doubt there will be much difference if any, on the dyno between 91 and 93 octane though. If i remember correctly, there was about a 6rwhp split from 87 octane to 93 octane on '13-'14 GT's
While I don't doubt your number, I doubt I would ever run 87 in the engine. I'm sure the engineers are smart and everything but it seems like an unnecessary risk to take. If I had 87 in there I would be worrying about deontation all the time, probably could never rev it over 3k without getting too worked up.

Very doubtful. The location of the shifter in the passenger compartment of the S550 is different. It has been moved closer to the driver, which most likely means the linkage hardware also has significantly different dimensions.

They did it, because this is a new Mustang, & now a world car... and is more refined. Meant to compete side-by side with BMW's... that didn't have such a long throw and muddled feel. Ford is matching the competition... that is why..!

Thank Alan Mulally..

what do you mean made the home page?

the top of the page has the threads that have the most recent posts.

(after the stickys)
Go to the first post of the thread and it was updated with the "Homepage Feature" meaning it showed up on the Homepage.

I don't really ever go there myself but it's buried a few pages down now.
