^Do what I did, email every Ford dealer in your area and ask for their best price. They will almost always ask you to come in and talk. Insist that they give you a price first. Then shop your best price (via email again) to other dealers, having them compete for your business. I got mine for 3.25% under invoice from the comfort of my recliner.
I plan on doing this for my ESP warranty with the 110 Ford dealerships in Florida. State law stops me from going out of state, but I can shop any dealer in state. $2,340 for 7yr/100k PremiumCare warranty direct from Ford is my starting point :)

Absolutely agree with this strategy and I've done it myself in the past.

All dealers have internet managers or departments now, so just find their email on their website and fire away from the comfort of your own home.
Is there any other way to buy a car in the internet age!? I also asked for (and got) a tax, title, tags, and all charges and fees price. Some dealers were more willing than others to deal online, but within days I had three dealers all claiming that they wouldn't be undersold under invoice.

Hey all - been lurking here for almost a year or so. Updated my order today, so I figured I'd post up. I had originally placed the order on August 1st (priority 12, retail, X-PLAN) with Recaros, but decided today to drop it back to the base seats w/ 68B. It MIGHT see an autocross in the parking lot once or twice, but realistically, the Recaros are probably overkill for my driving style in a 90% daily-driver car (I work from home, so not really *daily* driver, but my primary car, regardless).

does this include job 2?
I doubt it.

The reason I didn't order a convertible is because I would have had to wait for Job 2.

My dealer told me that my retail order would be pulled to schedule "no sooner than 9/9".

And that at the time he didn't know when Job 2 would start.

This is what I was told on 7/26. I know dealers "say" a lot of things, but this seems to match what I've been reading in other threads, and in other forums.

I spoke to a ford rep today, and I have no clue if this is accurate but she said that basically job#2 vs Job#1 is very little difference in time, because the job #1 will wait around the factory for a while doing more extensive quality checks. The job#2 is mostly stock orders, which a lot of dealerships will put the retail orders in as in the system, because they tend to move faster since they are meant to be in dealership and need to be sold. So basically, I was told don't worry if you are in Job#2, it will still get to you around the same time as most other people.

My salesman said the same thing basically. I was reluctant to believe it for the reason of building hope, but this does reassure what he was saying. My salesman invited me to join their team with their dealer training this Friday. I'll see if the rep coming in says something similar. :headbang:

PM the dealer you went to please. I plan on getting mine in MD also.

So you're dead serious you got your GT 3.25% under invoice with no hidden bullsh-t when you go to pay/pick it up included locked down tax/title/tags and fees price?

Yes, I have a signed sales agreement with a total on the road price...on an EB. Sadly his prices went up last week.(possibly because I referred several forum members his way)

I received this from FORD today:
Hello Chris,

My name is Rose, I am from Ford`s Customer Relationship Center (CRC). I have reviewed your email inquiring about your 2015 Ford Mustang order.

Our records indicate that your vehicle is In Order Processing. There are a great number of variables that may affect production scheduling and delivery:

· Option packages
· Special powertrain combinations
· Delivery delays of components
· Certification and quality inspections
· Transportation of the vehicle to the specified dealership

As such, it is not possible to guarantee a specific delivery date. Additionally, please keep in mind that dealerships are assigned different allocations on a monthly/yearly basis. The number of vehicles allocated to a dealership would be based on several variables. A dealership's allocation will also affect your waiting period as your dealership will only have a certain amount of vehicles at their disposal. Please note that the average vehicle production period is from 8 - 10 weeks from the order submission date to the factory; not the date your order was placed at the dealership.

In addition, your sales representative at your selling dealership is in the best position to track your vehicle order. We recommend contacting the dealership's Sales Department for further assistance in this matter. You can always go to the website to track your order. http://www.cotusb.ford.com/

Thank you for contacting Ford Motor Company.

Sincerely,

Rose

"As such, it is not possible to guarantee a specific delivery date".

This needs to be plastered at the top of every page on this thread. There is only one official date from Ford-Fall 2014. My expectations have always been on or before December 20th.

Just ordered my car yesterday (Labor Day). They informed me it could be 16 weeks away or futher. Basically they have no idea when the car will be here. They said all cars off the assembly line will be stored until production testing is done, then they will release the stored cars. They said the factory may need to go re-tool certain parts of the factory if needed, and assume if that's so they will pull those stored cars in and fix any problems. Not sure what all this means, but that's what they told me.

They also said dealers have a choice to sell their dealer stock orders for people placing special orders, or they can push out the special orders after they get dealer stock vehicles. I will consider myself lucky if I get mine before the end of the year.

Finally in Production

Yes, Yes, Yes
I ordered my car on 5-23 got a VIN number July 8. Have been painstakingly checking the order status. After the 100th time of getting the message no such vehicle it is finally in production as of 8-27. Now I can check it 20 times a day and wait for it to go into shipping. Talking about a lesson in patience. :)

I sure wish somebody could tell me WHY mine isn't "In Production"... Ordered 3 days earlier than you did, got a VIN ages ago, but no build date. STILL don't have one with the exception of some inside information, which has probably changed.

I don't care a whole lot about the date itself, but I would like to know what it is about my order that's holding it up!
