  1. So close, yet so far

My dad works for a company with ties to ford, and we had an old trade in, so it was do-able. Honestly, there is no other way to say it, my dad makes a fair bit of money, and it was within our budget to just outright purchase it. I in no way take it for granted, nor will I ever get any other gift...
  2. So close, yet so far

Currently with my job, I can easily pay for my yearly insurance rate and still have thousands in saving. School is relatively easy, and I am walking into senior year with a 4.0 unweighted GPA and 9 AP classes under my belt. Basically, I don't think my parents are worried about me losing focus...
  3. So close, yet so far

I'm 17 and my insurance is roughly $2600 a year for a loaded Premium Ecoboost coupe. Its under my parents and we have GEICO if that helps. There is no way in hell that you should be paying 400-500 a month.... no way. Shop around and scrounge for every discount you can get (Good grades, defensive...

I would love to see a video just to see what this sounds like.
  5. Wheel Lock Question

Mine came in a small bag in the trunk like you said, and I had the dealership put them on. I still have the regular nuts that were replaced. i would talk to them about getting you the 4 regular nuts you rightfully deserve.
  6. Will removing the clutch spring be harmful in anyway?

I just removed my clutch spring today, and I am very pleased with the results. However, I saw a post about how the clutch spring is necessary to keep your clutch from accidentally riding. I also saw one about how the clutch spring could save your transmissions if it failed or something like that...
  7. Mustang Owner Question #2

Funny this thread came up. I (being 16) actually noticed a Competition Orange v6 leaving my school, saw a student driving it, and sure enough saw him again at the gym that night. Told him I drive a race red ecoboost, and told him next time I saw him, I would park next to him. 2 days later, i...
  8. Rear floormats

I didn't get rear floormats from the dealership, but My all weather mats that i bought include rear ones.
  9. 2015 sequential taillights?

The car does come with the sequential taillights. The kit you see on American Muscle allows the taillights to blink sequentially when you turn your hazard lights on, brake, or lock/unlock the car. The stock lights do not blink sequentially during these functions, only while the blinker is on.

  12. Starting in first gear

Thanks for the tips guys. It's just really overwhelming, getting a car, and learning to drive manual all in 2 or 3 days. Its stressful for me to think about certain situations, where i seem to have endless questions about what to do here, and what to do there. Guess I'll just figure it out...
  13. Starting in first gear

Oh i gotcha. So you want to skip going through the rpm's in one gear, so you drop down one to let you accelerate faster. Interesting concept.
  14. Starting in first gear

Hmm i just told my dad the what you guys said about rev matching and he responded by saying that if you have to rev the engine when you downshift, you are simply picking the wrong gear, or not breaking enough. Any counters i can throw at him?
  15. Starting in first gear

Ok perfect thanks for the tip. If i tell him that you guys verified the legitimacy, he will be ok. So you rev-match while the clutch is all the way in?
  16. Starting in first gear

Does that add any extra wear and tear on things like the clutch or brakes? I told my dad about it, and he said things like "no that's terrible, don't do that it isn't good for the car." Granted, that could be due to the fact that he is talking to me, his teenage son who just recently got a brand...
  17. Starting in first gear

Here i'll try to be more concise. So when you downshift, its the same as normal up-shifting in the sense that you push the clutch all the way to the ground, and then shift, and then you pull your foot off the clutch, doing it slower as you nearly take your foot off the clutch. This ensures a...
  18. Starting in first gear

I meant just get to the catch point, and then release it slower until your foot is off the clutch.
  19. Starting in first gear

I experienced this too, and I just started letting the clutch out a lot slower, and it seemed to help with that.
