I ordered my car on 5-23 got a VIN number July 8. Have been painstakingly checking the order status. After the 100th time of getting the message no such vehicle it is finally in production as of 8-27. Now I can check it 20 times a day and wait for it to go into shipping. Talking about a lesson in patience.

Your car will be built approximate on 9/4.

Yep, the blend date on his car is 9/4. Of the cars I'm watching, they are being built on average +/- 1 day from the blend date.

As I keep repeating, your order date makes VERY little difference to your scheduled date.

It's all about ALLOCATION. You may well be the first car in line at your dealer, but your dealer didn't get an allocation. When they do, you'll get scheduled. As long as your car meets the criteria they're looking for (aka all parts are available, etc.).

It's possible your dealer may sell so few mustangs that they don't get an allocation in the first pass and they have to wait for a later round. It's also possible one dealer may get 5 allocations at once because they sell lots and lots of mustangs. Don't assume smaller dealers get fewer allocations than bigger ones, it's all about the sales. Ford will reward dealers that sell lots of a certain car with lots of allocations for that car the following year.

It's an incentive program, and any given customer may not be treated equally because of it. It's definitely not a first come first served sort of industry.

This is only for dealer stock orders correct? A customer order is independent of allocation.

It says 140904 on the top of the page. So check back Friday and it should be built. Looks like the majority of the Ecoboost models are being built this week, wonder if they were waiting on a part to arrive or something.

I wish i could view my vehicle. I ordered mine July 7th, and my dealer printed me my confirmation, but my order number is X001, and it gives me nothing on Cotus. I then called ford support, and they told me that under the order code X001, there were multiple ford vehicles, not just mine, so that meant that my dealership used a generic order code, and mine should be given a legit order number soon enough. But I don't know how i will ever know that new order number without pestering the living shit out of my dealership.

If you feel you have to 'pester the living shit' out of your dealer, pick another dealer. It shouldn't be much trouble to ask them for a unique order number so you can track it on Cotus so you don't have to keep bugging them on the car's status over the next few months.

Although, until you get a VIN, all cotus will tell you is it's in order processing. It's not super exciting.

they just gave me my order number and dealer number. im assuming that since i can track my car and it says "order processed" that they got a DORA, correct?
