Can you ask him why he tagged it #shelby then.

I guess maybe he doesn't know the difference.
Probably just to get more likes LOL. This car doesnt have the vents that the svt prototype did... So i dont think its an SVT. It seems like this guy just spotted this one running around or something.

I don't see a brace connecting the shock towers. Hmmm.
Not all cars have strut tower braces.

Nor need them. This is an all-new chassis so what worked or was necessary for the S197 may no longer apply to the current model. Not to many cars have a brace going directly across the engine like the Mustang, most go from the shock towers to the firewall.

I am not well versed on the 5.0. Is that the sound tube that runs from the intake tube backwards?

Yes it is.
Thanks. :)

But uck. :(

Looks like I may know my first under hood mod. Are these easy to remove I hope? I'd assume a good aftermarket intake would solve the problem. Or maybe removing the tube and blocking up the ends I suppose. Again I'm showing my 5.0 newb-ness.

Aftermarket intake would make it sound much louder in the cabin... They also have hookups for the sound tube.

That picture is a good find!
It's the GT, we've seen the engine compartment before in the mule several months ago where it was clear that there would be a cover over the battery.
And here's the engine cover that was shown at the press briefing on the 5th:

The revised Coyote engine in the 2015 Mustang takes the same direction as before, with the appearance of even larger fake silver plenums on each side. However, again, this is simply an engine cover. And those plenums are just plastic boxes that cover up the port fuel injection system wiring, fuel rails, and injectors. Fake, poseur, and we don’t even get a chrome “5.0″ this time. We do get the same plastic valve cover covers, again with the message “Powered by Ford” (as if the engine would be supplied by somebody else?).
Keep in mind that this is just an evolution of the S197 chassis - the space between the frame rails and strut towers is the same as before. The length of the compartment is nearly identical, except that the corners are cut off for the swept-back headlamps. Therefore the fuse box on the left is entirely different, and the intake box on the right is entirely different. The design of the intake box is what we need to lean more about - how is it different? The element is probably more vertical than horizontal. It certainly wouldn't have been left to flow less.

It isn't really the noise with me. It is the clutter of the extra hose and the "cheesy-ness" of running a tube to the cabin for piping engine sound.

I will have to have people catch me up to speed.

I'm thinking an aftermarket intake that LACKS the connection for the sound tube. I want to delete it basically. I'll have to read up on it. :)

I know that most of the aftermarket intakes come with caps that you can put over the intake tube hole if you want to delete it.

Awesome. That is what I would do. Thanks. :)

Yet another thing lost when this platform devolved from the DEW98. This is how you get a perfect weight balance:

Nice find. But still a prototype and things could change.

So they changed up the cover and all just to signal this isn't a direct carry over.

I don't really care how the engine bay looks . I only want to know the specs on this revised v8 . I want a mustang that doesn't need modifying for it to impress . I know the 2011-2014 already did a good job on that but still if it reaches 460 hp and 420 lb. of torque with at least a 100 pound reduction in weight than it will make my day . I mean those numbers can only be achieved on the 2005-2010 by forced induction .
