So realistically what do the GT owners think they are going to get as their MPG numbers? And by that I mean driving normally...not like a rocket ship nor driving like Miss Daisy.

I would expect 19-20MPG depending on the driving mix. I think that would be reasonable. I would hope for low 20's, but may not be realistic when mixing in time sitting in traffic. Either way pretty darn good for a car with that much power and spirit! Trick is going to be staying out of the pedal, not sure that is really going to be possible. I may get a bit lower because I am planning to get a Convertible which does not have quite the slip through the air and weighs a bit more.

I'm probably not going to get good gas mileage outside of highway any time soon lol. I've never had a car with this much power so I'm sure i'll be having a lot of fun with it. Although my GTI w/ tune has a very good power to weight ratio and a mid to upper 13 sec car. So plenty quick. I wonder how much different this is gonna feel having an upper 12 sec car

At that point the better value is to not buy new. Or pick up a '14 GT Premium. Dealer by me is giving $9K off MSRP right now for '14 GT Premiums.

I maintain that for the performance you get, there isn't a better bargain than a Mustang GT.

I don't want to relive that miserable thread but you're reading the outcome wrong: someone might be able to get the difference down just $10+k, but for me it's still like $14k. Heck, the mpg info alone on the leaked stickers shows a per-year difference of $650, or $3,900 over 6yrs. Add that to the $8k cost difference between a GTPP and an EBPP and you're already at $12k, and that's assuming you don't spend a dime more in insurance on the GT vs the EB (which everyone will, and I most definitely will).

Basically people who want to pad that cost of ownership number can get to $15k pretty easily and people who want to pare that number as much as possible will convince themselves that they can get all the way down to the difference in invoice price between the two cars only.

The truth is somewhere in between...but it's gonna be at least an additional third of a non-premium EBPP's invoice, and in my case closer to a half.

Remember, there are other human beings with different needs and wants out there. For some the V8 will literally be two, three, or even four times as fun as the EB. You need to realize people have different needs and desires. Someone who wants a NA V8 but gets an EB isn't getting very good value for themselves no matter how good a deal the EB is for the average car buyer. Make sense now?

Value might be the wrong word to use in his defense. economically and financially V8 vs EB there is no doubt the EB will save you more money.
Value is too opinionated of a word to use. Fiscally the EB will always be a better buy if you are leaving used cars off the table.

IMO - I thought I never would read a discussion about MPG in a Ford Mustang forum.
It is not the right place to start arguing about MPG at the first place I think. A Fusion Hybrid forum would be more suitable for it. Now after I read some older posts in Mustang forums were the "V8-people" don't talk to the "V6-people" - now posts EB vs V8 vs EB? :shocked:

If I had the money in my pocket, had connections to a Ford Mustang Club who loves V8's , I would have bought one! If I could have the V6 with all the gadgets the EB offers, I absolutely would have bought one. But I got a EB - because of the money I don't like to spend on a V8 because I never will go to race or modify.

And yes! I understand people who are not willing to get less than a V8 "MACHINE". They "need" the sound of a V8.

My first car was a Renault R4 with 17 HP. (Seventeen :lol 0-60MPH in around 23+ seconds. My wife got a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee V6 with 289HP. Junior (17) got an 1996 Evolution 4 with 290HP. So getting a EB with 310HP puts a line on the HP so far. If someone like to arguing about money what could be saved "IF" - get a bus ticket! Another "IF": If I didn't had my accident in January and I could still use my left hand, I would still drive my "BABY" a 2005 Mustang V6 Convertible, and could safe a lot of money.

As members wrote already. Don't start arguing with MPG in a Mustang forum.
I did fill up regular gasoline in Germany one time for 1.74 EURO per liter. Check it out how much that would be in $$ and we can start a Mustang-Hybrid post. :headbonk:

If it's even 1 single MPG less, I'm driving it back to the dealer, dowsing it with gasoline and burning it in front of the showroom.

Ok I was with you up until you said this... That's VERY subjective. Value differs from person to person. You may highly value the fuel economy for the ecoboost while someone else value's the power of the gt. You cannot project your definition of "value" onto other's decisions and opinions. You will rarely find that the ratio of "stuff":"price" directly correlates to value. It's more like:
("what I want":"price")/("what am i willing to pay"x"how badly do i want it")

+1 I think I'm going to order a base Eco just to track the differences with my GT. I must be the only one in the Mustang community that looks at ownership costs like I do when I flush the toilet, you get out what you put in.

The cars are likely 20/25MPG around town, 27/32MPG highway, GT/Eco in real life and I have one to live and could care less about pocket change. Oh and the I'd like to point out the Poor Value GT has 435HP and rev's to 7K so this argument is dead.
