I Started experiencing problems with the car the other day. When I was driving I heard a slight rattling sound like if you shake a spray paint can coming from the car in 5th gear when I increased the rpms from 4-5k bring the boost up steadily. I drove it home and parked it for the night, the next day I started it up and noticed a ticking sound coming from the engine, the idle was high at about 1,000rpms and the boost/vacuum is now at 20-21 inhg when it is usually at 23-24inhg at idle..
The high rpm idle went back to normal eventually but now when I drive it I notice an significant loss of power in the low rpm range and the ticking sound is still present from 1000-3000 rpm. It clears up at about 3,000 rpms but comes back instantly. Any Ideas. This is a lease and I plan on bringing it to the shop tomorrow I just wanted an Idea of what it could be.
