2015 GT vs 1969 Mach1

I took my magnetic GT to 'Cars and Coffee' on Saturday and parked it next to a dark gray '69 Mach1. It was a great contrast between classic and modern. It was a real hit and drew a crowd.

I know it was just a trick of the angle of the picture..but that first pic makes the S550 look like it's a Challenger next to a Miata!

Ahhhh, beautiful! And yet another good picture showing common design features/elements being draw from older mustangs. I really love how the S550 looks like a mustang without being retro.

When you see the two cars together you can really see the common design cues, many of the people that saw them commented that the s550 looks like a "modern version" of the '69.

My first thought when I saw a rear 3/4 view of the S550. I love the roofline, the "shoulders," and the taillights. When I was a kid, my babysitter lived across the street from us. We all about fell dead one day when her boyfriend drove up in a brand new, bright red Mach 1 with the 428 CJ and a 4-speed. Oh, my. Kid heaven! I have always loved that style, and am really glad the S550 pays homage to it.

Its crazy when people say they do not see Mustang in the '15. Its the perfect modernization of the '69. The best rear since then.

69 sportsroof - my favourite! Looking at them side by side, the styling of the 2015 almost makes the 69 look more modern than more recent years (90s up to previous generation) as they are very similar all around. The roof, the rear, the pointy, long bonnet, etc. It at least shows the timeless beauty of the 69 year.
