If you want all of it I have to say buy a '17 otherwise build your own and enjoy your cars.

*The control of the rear axle cooler pump is tied into several items on the car, adding it to a car that did not have it is impossible without massive changes, BCM, ECM wiring etc are all different.
Thanks for the post Tommy.

Not wanting to sound ungrateful but I like and enjoy my '16 Tech very much for a variety of reasons. I do not want to trade it or otherwise dispose of it for another variety of reasons.

When you say it's impossible, you seem to know some of the the specifics. Do you know exactly what is involved and if so, provide those details or point me where I can get them?

Thanks.

Actually it's the PCM only, I just had to look at my notes. You could buy the parts and make it work but to integrate it into the existing car (as I assume FP would be expected to) would be complicated. The wiring is not there, there is some question as to why the Tech Pack cars already have the relay for the diff pump yet have no wiring. I have not had my hands on one to see how the tech pack cars are built and verify the Ford wiring to understand fully the differences. You could just power the the pump with a power source.

I would get that in writing. Let's just say I'd be skeptical if this is how it was handled.
I think that's the point. They don't want to put anything in writing.

Thanks again Tommy, if you were in New England, my Tech would be there this weekend:lol:

It might be helpful for a '17 or 16 Track pack to share anything they might have regarding the wiring.. Anyone interested??

I very much appreciate the diagram and your consideration of this problem

Yes, if you are buying the trans and cooler kit it is everything you need. Don't forget the fluid.
Just curious, maybe you already said, which fluid did you run and did you notice a difference in temps at all?

Tommys got it. The BG Syncho Shift II turned out to be a good choice. Even after an hour + of driving the trans has stayed under 180*. It still will hit limp mode on the track but that is driving it significantly harder.

I did notice a slight difference. It's sort of like a little butter added to the shifts, I like it.

Cool, I'm gonna put some in my car for the mean time and see what happens. That is if I drive the car any more this year.....

If you take the time to read the owners manual, under warranty it states bascially coolers are recommended for track use. So if you are going to track it, put coolers on it. It may not prevent a denied warranty claim (legal ass covering) I have an issue with the 'warranty' posts. They don't void the warranty, they may not cover a repair if it is proven to be caused by a modification or operation. How many GT350 transmissions have had any issues to this point? I understand the frustration with tech pack cars but the voiding the warranty issues are a little unreasonable.

If you want to keep your warranty and not red-flag your Shelby don't put any kind of tune in it. The engine is the only thing Ford does not want to pay for.

As far as FP offering a rear axle cooler using factory parts, I understand the issue. The modules in the car are specific and programmed as is wiring. It is not plug and play. Yes you need a rear axle cooler, ask any '16+ GT PP owner. If you want all of it I have to say buy a '17 otherwise build your own and enjoy your cars.

I think the warranty concerns are legitimate. I currently have a car with full manufactures warranty. But if I pay ford for the parts that fix the issue they engineered into the car; I loose at a minimum the warranty on any transmission related problems, unless I can afford to fight in court to provide my cooler setup didn't cause the problem. If I buy the transmission replacement I have not transmission warranty. If I add in a "powered" pump, then electrical issues could be voided.

If I add any transmission coolers than Ford will most certainly void the differential under warranty, because preventing "limpmode" without coolers on the differential will damage it.

Essentially, I've said all along that this is a BS response by ford to help us fix the cars

Ford engineered the problem.
Ford marketed it without notifying us of the problem
Ford delayed any fixes until after most of the problem cars were sold
Ford will profit off the problem
And Ford is leaving us owners out to dry.

That didn't say much for a company to provide little support. I'm in with this car so selling it doesn't hurt Ford, it would only hurt me. So I will fix it then basically "selfwarrenty" it after that, but my future cars will not say "Ford" because I can't trust them anymore with my money.

Last Friday I sent an email to Ford Performance with a reply to their questions and some questions of my own. They still haven't replied. This surprises me. I'm not sure whether they are still deciding what to do, they have decided not to answer certain questions or what?

Nice, make sure to enable the temp gauge through FORscan if you haven't already.

I guess we will just have to disagree on how warranties work and the power a consumer holds. I'm out.
I agree with this. It is the manufacturer's job to prove that what you did caused the failure, not your job to prove it didn't.
