It looks as if Ford isn't as aware of this issue as thay should be.
Gotta say I am not surprised by this statement Epiphany.

Are you saying the Track/R transmission is backordered from all sources?

If the rumors are true, I'm going the with the cooler and third party pump fix. Have you been able to gauge if Ford is really "aware of this issue as they should be"?

Thanks for the update.

Until I see the parts backing up a parts number, it's all rumor imho:frusty:

No, I haven't heard anything else.

It looks as if Ford isn't as aware of this issue as thay should be. Apparently they only had TWO Track Pack transmissions earmarked for Ford Racing. Three were ordered, two were sold. The gentleman that ordered the third didn't get one (Steve's friend, I believe) but should be first in line. So the transmissions are already on backorder. Furthermore, there is an apparent concern that the transmissions aren't going into GT350's such that the listing was pulled. Ford Racing is going to require a VIN be provided when an order is submitted.

Since both transmissions WERE sold to GT350 owners I think it obvious that Ford Racing may not be as up to speed as many thought they were. Or they didn't think that many would actually buy a complete transmission from them.
I'm totally shocked!:headbonk:

Mike at Buyfordracing (DPM) sold the only transmissions Ford Racing had (two of them). Both were sold to GT350 owners and happen to be members here (both posted earlier in this thread). A third individual ordered one that was listed in error as being available.

What is unsettling is that only two were available. FR may have had difficulty obtaining the two and maybe that was all they could get, for now. However, this is the third model year in terms of production and they have allegedly been working on making the hardware available for quite some time now.

Somebody at FR or Ford had a discussion with the group at Ford Parts/Service. The Parts group doesn't want Ford Racing selling their parts at a lower price point. Technically they are no longer Ford Parts once FR sells them but we all know where these transmissions come from. I don't believe they are even opening the boxes from Tremec and are simply applying their own sticker over the Tremec or Ford label - nothing new here and I'm not implying anything underhanded. I'm thankful it can work this way. What I can't understand is how this is being handled.

[Ford Parts] So how many transmissions do you think you'll need?

[Buyer at FR] Eh, I think two will work for now.

Then just like that, they are sold.

FR is now somehow confused as to how these could have been sold that fast. Such that they want VIN numbers, including from the two transmissions already sold and when it wasn't indicated anywhere in their ad that these are only to be sold to Tech Pack (etc) owners that can prove ownership.

Seriously Ford Racing, wake up. Instead of worrying about having enough warm coffee at your next meeting maybe you should get your ass in gear. Cut through the red tape and get the ball rolling. That means having the cooler hardware available as well. Whoever made the call to only have two available made an error and instead of looking to lay blame elsewhere, suck it up, accept that you missed the mark, and make the hardware available.

I'm totally shocked!:headbonk:
I've supported Ford Motorsport/SVO/FRPP/Ford Racing since the early eighties. They have had some really sharp people there over the years and have offered some great hardware. Whoever was handed this one at FR isn't handling it the best way it could be done. I'm sure their hands are tied to some extent, as is almost always the case these days. But the really good ones make it happen when nobody else can and don't resort to adding more restriction.

This was essentially what we were told when we all called in a few weeks ago. Awesome.
I've been reading about the hardware coming since July, then it was August, in August people were told September, now it's September and it's still 6 to 8 weeks out.

Just saying, we've heard "soon" for a while now.

Thanks again E-piph!
Being fairly new to all this stuff again, when you say Ford Racing, does that mean Ford Performance?

I'm fully aware of that as I've been following this for a long time as well. I think it looks even worse though when you tell a bunch of people that personally called it will be released by such a time and then change it yet again. They are making a bad situation even worse and really alienating people even more. If that is even possible at this point.

Yup, it's like a messy drawn out breakup. Someone over there is just saying this and hoping that we just move on.
Wishing your customers would just go away is usually a sign you've sold a bad product.

Serious question.

If you had the ability to get a 17 Convenience Pack for MSRP and they would give you $53k (same as CarMax) for your trade would you take? I'm weighing that option instead of going the cooler route.
