I call BS on that
In all seriousness, I'm still ticked off at Ford but the cooler scoop is working fine for me at the moment since I don't really track the car. I'd like to, but I will wait.

No impact if you don't track it.:headbonk:
Unfortunately not for some. As a few here have hit limp mode on very hot days while just doing regular driving.

It was clear. Said it right on the window sticker
I agree with this.

What wasn't clear is just how bad it would be without the coolers.

I'll receive my trans cooler and pump this week and start working on brackets and hoses. Electrical is already done, I should have the transmission cooler in within the next 2 weeks. My differential cooler is now complete and works great.
Are you using the trans cooler kit supplied from Ford Performance?

What did u use for the differential cooler, does it communicate with the PCM? Did u install additional guages and switches?

I went totally aftermarket on the transmission and differential cooler components. Being the engineer that I am, I feel more confident in the components I select, and if I have any problems I'll know what needs to be done to address the system issues. The hoses are certainly better quality and the diff cooler has more capacity than the factory radiator.
I designed these systems to be independent of any ECM functions and are manually activated. I don't expect to need the cooling capacity most of the time, only at the track or on long trips if I see oil temperatures getting in the high zone.
I also have separate gauges in the cockpit to monitor each system. I put those in before we knew how to reprogram the dash gauges. Now I have a backup.

So I finally tracked my (Tech) car at MSR Houston this past weekend. The temps were cool and I have the Shelby Scoop installed. On Saturday (51-59 degrees) I ran 3/20 min sessions without issue. Max trans temp was 232 on the final session. Sunday was a bit warmer (55-67 degrees) and I ran 4 sessions. I hit limp at the end of my final session.

I would say I ran moderately hard on Saturday, but on Sunday it was total game on and didn't leave much out there. Sessions were pretty spread out so the tranny had time to cool some. I wish I had monitored the temps better, but my Son was racing so I was a little busy.

That being said, I think the scoop helped a bunch, but there is NO WAY you will get 4 sessions in the Summer here in Houston. Maybe if you "drive ms. daisy" you can make it work, but pushing hard in ambient temps over 70 will put you in limp mode for sure, even with the Shelby Scoop.

I have spoken with Mike R at Autonation WBL and Issac at Ford Performance. I have been approved for the tranny purchase and have paid. Just waiting for my delivery date. While the cooler bits and electric pump may be the cost effective way to fix the problem, I wanted the best fix.

I have to say that I had a blast tracking the car and look forward to doing it again, but not without a cooler setup.

Hoping to make PBIR and Homestead in May/June. Will get to try the trans cooler setup on a short track.

No time between now and the Bash to track.

Looks like whatever high performance SE Mustang Ford has in store for us will be my next car as long as it has all three coolers. ;)

No way am i spending more money on coolers or OPG set on a car that should've come standard with it.

Are you having any vibration problems as others have reported from the Shelby scoop?

I go back and forth on this all the time. I bought the Shelby thinking it was a one time buy that would age w me and I most likely will keep it. BUT, as you point out, standard items that to me are basic items associated with the name and performance of 'Shelby' are not included. A good amount of time, effort, and $$$$ needed to make my Shelby true to the name.

That's kind of sad.

You chose the plush model, it was pretty obvious to me that you had two options. Pick the tech if you're older and just want to keep it on the street or get a track pack if performance was more important to you.

You have a few unsubstantiated claims of OPG failures and now all of the OPGs are bad.

If I Bought a tech I would happily pay the 1000-2000 it would cost me to fab up my own coolers.

Like many tech pack owners have pointed out, the tech pack is the superior option because you get the handling of the track pack with the better stereo and for 2-4% of the cars value you can get the cooling system in check.

Selling the car out of pity is pathetic.

For me the money to buy a transmission and the cooler is going to be less than the money to switch to a different car. Part of the equation is how much I like the car as well. Who knows, maybe the day after I buy the track pack transmission Ford will announce a really cool new vehicle that I just have to own.

I really want to get out on the track next year, so I think my best bet is fixing what I have.
