Like said before, half ass kit if you don't buy the tranny.
the parts that you need, using everything oem, aside from lines and pump should come to about $390.

This is no deal.

I am torn between finishing up my electric pump cooler or just buying the trans with the pump.

I'm thinking i could use my non-pump trans in my galaxie behind a 5.0.

And then the thought also becomes, if i'm going to swap the trans, do i also get a mcleod clutch just in case?

argh!

One of my considerations in this decision is to give the least amount of additional $$ to FoMoCo...

When I get around to it I'll be getting both the tranny and cooler kit. I want as close to factory as I can get.

Since Ford isn't going to offer warranty with their kit then I believe a complete kit like what SA is developing is a better choice.

I'm also thinking that the tech pack trans with an external cooler may actually be lighter that the trans with integrated pump be a few lbs.

I think, at least for the time being, If i'm spending 3 grand on stuff for the car, i'll get a CF hood and Decklid and shave about 30 lbs off the car instead.

Guys, The stock lines listed will not work. When I did my kit, the spots for the lines are there with caps in the holes. The holes are not Tapped for installation of the lines. And the front trans line is connected to the internal pump which we do not have.

The shop I used, LaMotta Performance, here in Longwood Fl removed the tail shaft and tapped the stock hole for the return line, but we used the drain hole on trans to drain to the cooler.

I know the Ford kit is OEM looking, but as stated above you still have to buy pump, hose/fittings and switch.

I used SVTDSM's write up as suggestion and the shop made some mods to his design. I am very happy with the way it came out.

16Kobra, can't thank you enough for your info. Based on what you said, it's outrageous, after all this time, the kit would include lines that do not work.:frusty:

Kudos on your design that eliminates the questions about using the drain and fill holes.

Thanks too for the link.

So basically, if you are going to do the track pack tranny and cooling kit together go through FP. If you are going external, go aftermarket. Got it.

Thanks all for the hard work and advice on the issue.

I'm thinking of cherry picking through the parts in the kit that'll give me an OEM looking cooler mount..use braided lines with AN fittings and take advantage of Shelby American's research into a "quieter" pump, switch and wiring. Figure the cars in storage until the salt clears so hopefully this will all come together by early March '17.

Agree w Minn19, thanks to all who have pioneered the solution a year before the official kit.

thank you for your comment, your finding essentially renders this no warranty cover kit from FP completely useless.

so disappointed in FP, took a year and 4 months to come up with a kit with no warranty and useless.

This is ok for installing a transmission with pump. For the remote pump guys The 7R081-E / F lines are useless as are most of the bolts listed. I sorted this last march when I installed the oem cooler and bracket and duct. All afterrmarket from there.

Yeah, so I'm going a bit crazy w this kit stuff but I was looking for part number
FR3Z-8310-F. It's the duct that replaces the block out panel.

I do not see it listed in the kit or the word "duct" in the parts description. WTF did we wait for?

Ford performance sucks. Talk about a let down! I feel for the base and tech owners!

It seems like this was a fire and forget model. I fear that there will be very little in the ways of support for the GT350 from FP.

It basically took FP 1 day to put the incomplete parts bin kit together and 1 year 4 months to do the marketing. Way to go Ford ?
