Sell those base and tech cars before you lose your ass big time. Got out of that thing while I could still get $57K last June. Bought a used track pack with 1000 miles for $57K.
Who is going to buy a $50K car with a trans that has no warranty over the next 4 years ? Nice job FP

Too late. We are stuck with them. I've been trying to do that and have been offered 45k for mine on trade for a new R with big adm and a used R that was still 20 over sticker. I'll just fix mine myself. I still love my car. Not the end of the world.

Lol like selling this car wouldn't be throwing the baby out with the bathwater?

Sell a car, take a 10k hit for a new one at MSRP... or throw that money at a new tranny/cooler kit? IMO, I like the car I have, short the ineffective cooling. But by the time it's out of warranty, it's the exact same cost to replace it all then as it is now.

Honestly, I'm in a better position to thrash the bejesus out of the car and then deal with whatever warranty repair is offered - vs upgrading then for the out of pocket expense.

"Abandon ship" doesn't really make as much mathematical sense.

(That said, the number of delusions about "this car with be worth more because-rare-worse-transmission are too damn high also).

I'm kind of feeling the same way.

After dealing with the horrendous handling of having my transmission repaired "under warranty" which left me without my car for 2 full months.

No rental car or any other compensation was offered.

Then I was saddled with a $2500 repair bill for the exhaust and body damage that was done to my car while not in my possession.

The reasoning? Because there was no proof that the tow truck driver from ford roadside did it, and no proof that the dealer did it....

So I was Officially told by Ford Corporate, the dealer, ford roadside AND the tow truck company's insurance carrier to file a claim with my own insurance company.

It would have been far easier and less expensive/annoying to simply buy a new cooler trans for $2700 and install it myself. I wish that I could have just done that, or would have had the foresight to do so.

I have since stopped giving one crap about my warranty.

If you have a transmission problem, just replace it yourself. You'll thank me later for the avoidance of shit customer service, the stress that you save, and the time that you save.

I've driven other cars that I thought about trading my shelby for. From a " line in the sand" perspective, I really wanted to trade the car away. BUT...

I've come to the spot where I like my gt350 better, in the face of being REALLY pissed with Ford and opting to send my additional car purchases, those of my company and those of my family members to other manufacturers.

I'd lose my ass it if traded the car off after all of the aftermarket parts that are on it, the ceramic coating, the PPF, the tint and all of the time that I have into it.

Instead of throwing money away and having to re-spend, I'm going to shave 250-300 lbs off of the car, dial the chassis in even further, then eventually go fully built, high-rev twin-turbo.

I'd love to take down some GTRs / lambos next year in houston and/or run the Tx mile.

Hell yea! That's what I'm talking about. Couldn't care less about warranty at this point either. I've modded every car I've ever owned warranty or no....

Warranties are for pussies. Ditch the warranty bitch and build on brother! What's the point of a warranty when the manufacturer won't stand behind it anyhow. I never buy a car because of a warranty. Granted I'm a shop owner / mechanic. But I buy cars to enjoy not send back to dealers to fk up. 90-95% of dealer mechanics could give two shits about a customers car. No way in hell would I let any person work on my car/cars. I trust no one. I'm seriously considering building a whole new 700+ NA Voodoo and pulling my stock one and storing it to the side.

On it!

I currently have 13 more "things" to install.

I'll probably start on the interior bits first ( rsd and a few other weight trimming bits).

I need to ping lethal tomorrow and find out when i should expect the CF driveshaft that I ordered during their sale.

Don't feel like pulling the exhaust twice. ( I have to repair the damage done to the exhaust by the dealer and get rid of the flex joints in the kooks midpipes. )

and I'm going to just run my electric pump cooler setup for now. If i pop the trans, I'll procure a internal cooler trans, do the swap, then drop the non-cooler trans off at the dealer for warranty work.

if it holds together, I'll still swap it next year, but not until I've collected a mcleod clutch and have a motor build in progress.

Perhaps i can get some custom badges made... " GT1350" ?

Pretty sure with the motor built properly and some twins that there are a few shops in either houston or dallas that can do a 1350hp build for me. :headbang:

I had the same/similar feeling. I wanted to dump my GT350 due to the handling of this cooler issue, so I went out and drove the competition. I drove some BMW Ms and Porsche 911s. I like the GT350 much better. I've driven the past models of Camaros and Challengers and I'm not very interested in those either.

It will be a pain to swap the transmission and add the cooler, but it will cost less than trading the car. And this car is fun! I can't wait to get back to the track next spring.

Fellas....why the good fuck do you guys not give your cars back...I did. It takes a bit of effort and some intelligence and research (ie, arguing the marketing and salesmanship of the car isn't in line with the product we bought).

In Canada - we can use CAMVAP - in America I believe you all have Lemon laws.

142 pages and I am not sure anyone except myself and Swedensky have done anything about it.

Also, in Canada, the above is easier if your car has overheated on the streets as mine did (over 7 times) - hit limp mode on the street = get a 2017.

For me its:
Not eating the ridiculous trade in.
Not paying ridiculous retail or possibly more.
I like my car.

Makes sense!

I didn't pay anything additional except for the difference between the 16 and 17 (although I grabbed an R this time).
