:doh::doh:

There are about 120k 2015 S550's on the street. Figure maybe what, 5% are on a message board complaining about a QC issue.

How do you TRULY know this is a much larger issue? I would be will wager that 75% of the QC issues here have been fixed post purchase.
I think the percentage of qc issues are probably way less than 5%,probably more like .5%.
I also dont believe anything consumer reports says. I liked my '13 GT500 enough to keep it and get a '15 GT that I like even more.The auto is more fun and it's not a near death experience when I let it rip.

I've been shopping both 2016 mustangs and 2016 camaro SS....you should see the problems with the chevy SS's, like over %40 of those guys are having small-BIG problems (i know its a forum and we are more picky). I really wanted to swtich from mustang over to camaro (for variety sake) but holy shit those camaro guys are getting some QC problems.
I'm a mechanic, all the new GM cars are junk, there are no good ones. Trucks included too. Not that I am a ford guy or anything either. My buddies 15 king ranch has had issues, and my diff needs replacing in the 15 Gt right now.

Does seem to be a lot of issues. Body panel alignment issues are meh but the vibrating driveline and a clunking read end/drive shaft are an issue.

I don't think it's so much that the Mustang has any more or less issues than any other car, but it's that the Toyotas and Hondas of the world have become very adept at weeding out bad cars, bad dealers, and bad actors :) They also care about their brand reputation and making things right with consumers: they identify lemons through ownership surveys, and buy them back and analyze the hell out of them to find out why a lemon is a lemon (and make sure it doesn't happen again). And their consumers get a replacement vehicle right away when that happens.

Ford would rather let you flail it out with your dealership...

If they would just learn this lesson, they'd become sweethearts in Consumer Reports ;)
