Having more sidewall isn't bad, it gives the tire more give/flex. Helps prevent spinning. That's one of the reasons why I'm. Sticking with 19s.

I run a 305/30 tire, I have also ran a PP 15GT with the same mods but he had the full ARH system and drag radials and I put about 2 cars on him as well. There are a lot of variables that can come into play such as driving and weight of other person. I am light :)

I'd probably just go to a stickier tire. Make more test hits and find out where you pull the best at.

I've got two roll races setup. One against a lightening and for some reason he agreed to a 20 roll lol.

Same bolt on's, longtubes full exhaust cold air. Went to the same Tuner. Oh, he has 1 3/4 headers and I have 1 7/8. 14 gt left me in the dust on a roll. Is it the header size that gives him the advantage and weight? Are the 14s that much faster then the 15. I had a buddy of mine in a 12 with a Bama tune and cold air, we were damn near door to door
When you say got left in the dust, how many car lengths are we talkin and from what speeds?

He was pulling me before we both switched. Probably about a car or 2. We did a Hit in 3rd gear. Once he switched into 4th and I switched into 4th, he keep pulling away from me, I just stopped because he kept pulling away from me

Shift later. With big primaries, peak power is shifted right. Depending on tune, you should still be building at 6500 I'd think considering mods

Is your car premium and loaded? What is the weight difference between you and him including driver weight? My guess is weight is the problem. Put someone on his passenger seat and race again. A fifth gen stang can scale around 3600 lbs and a loaded six gen with pp around 3820 lbs. I m also assuming both of u had same amount of fuel in the tank.

Judging from a roll race on 6M cars.... (sighs)

Drivers are different in those "comparisons."

Take it to the track and switch drivers of the vehicles. If that's a no go, then you will never know.

Lets be honest, we know the 6g weighs more, 100lbs is a .10 1/4 mile; add 6M to the mix, anything can happen.

Every dyno with the stock intake manifold even with 1 7/8" headers shows a drop off after it peaks at 6500 or so. That said he should still shift above the peak by 500-700 so he stays as high in the hp curve as possible.

I have always shifted my car at around 7200 or 7300. I raced my buddy's 16 with the same mods and tried shifting at 6500 and to my surprise it was the same outcome it made no difference in the outcome. he has a auto by the way.
