Really apprehensive about doing it, but with plenty of searches and You Tube video I went or it. Since most here know how to do it I will touch on only a few thoughts:
I used a freezer Zip Lock bag wrapped around the oil filter and caught 80-90% of the oil. Left little mess and highly recommend especially if you are on the ground.
Upon completion of replacing the filter I decided to drive to the dealership and get a new drain plug for $2.99. (Cheap insurance.) All I can say is that it goes on way too easy and makes me wonder how it stays on.
I marked the filter and engine block with a Sharpie to monitor the filter to see if it loosens. I left off the access panel for the time being.
If I count my time, this oil change cost me way more than the dealer.
