18 manifold ported vs unported with boost

I have a 2015 gt with just catback and coilovers. At the moment I'm doing some supporting mods to eventually get a procharger come black friday. I've been reading a ton about the 18 manifold and how killer it is. A lot of people get it ported some leave it unported and still make killer numbers. I was wondering before I pull the trigger on a 18 manifold has anyone with boost done a dyno with and without a port job. I wanna see if it's worth the extra money to get it ported. I understand porting removes the turbulence and opens it all up more, so makes sense for it to make more power but is it worth the extra coin if it's only a few hp and tq. I wanna build the mustang right but if I can save a few bucks in places and put that money towards other things I'm all about it.

The gain will not be large, simply porting the 18. Whether or not its worth it is up to you. As with all mods, its a cumulative effort. Many here will say its not worth it. But if you skip 5 things like this, you will end up with a combo that performs lower than an optimized setup.

What does that mean?
That means peeps are making a 1000 with porting nothing. Port heads/intake whatever now what are making ? 1035? Scratch that.. 1020 if your lucky. All your doing is reducing restriction, and really at certain boost level, it'll overcome any restriction for the most part. This isn't a iron headed 383 stroker SBC with a 4-71 on it haha. Maybe I can see porting with a turbo, but def not with a supercharger.

Yea I’m going to have to disagree with that. The stock intake is a box. The cobra jet intake is a much better flowing box. You never want a restriction in the system. N/A or boosted. The ICE is a big air pump. The more air you pump. The more power you make.

I wish everyone took this approach, id shine like a diamond in a goats ass!

Many dont realize the more power you make NA, the more power you will make boosted.

Yeah but it'll be diminishing returns when you goto higher boost levels. All out NA I'd just throw a 300-350 shot at it and piss off a lot of 14 psi guys haha.
