I had this issue when I first installed everything and started working on the tune with Lund. I mentioned the issue and voltage difference to Dakota, he sent over a revision for the tune, and I never had the CEL come on again after that. I didn't change anything with the vacuum lines or the wiring. Only thing I did was change tunes and BAM!!! everything worked great.

I got the same surging issue when I first installed my headers because I left one of the solenoids for my stock IM unplugged so the surging has to do with the IMRC being stuck open with a tune designed for them to be closed while cruising.

Lastly the adapters are for the sensors that receive 5v from the ECU and return a voltage that changes when the IMRC open and close. The solenoid(Blue Connectors) are what actually open and close the IMRC by allowing vacuum to be applied to the actuators or to vent the actuators.
So with that said should I ask for them to have Dakota to look at my tune? Or should I try maybe flipping the Y connector around?

It might be worth a shot. Maybe whatever Dakota did for my tune will work. The Y connector has nothing to do with the P2005 code only P2008/P2011.

ok so I think the DAKOTA cheat code worked. lol haha. I told him about it and they updated their tuning software. also kudos to dude that mentioned that earlier.

I got tune revision back, so far no hesitation and feels great. I just can't go redline yet because I am breaking in new clutch. I guess not a great time to install new clutch lol.. so tempting. I will report back soon but I think problem is solved..

Just an FYI guys.. I've been working with Jon JR at lund racing to compile all the information that are in these threads combined with what he has been seeing on the tuning/check engine light side of things.

I am going to tackle this on my car and have a shop doing a second car to vet the document and once we're sure it works I'll get it posted. Not sure if Lund plans to post it on their website or if I'm just going to post it somewhere but it should be a shorter resource for everyone to look at.

its a combination of the DIY thread's instructions, the main 18IM thread.. what I've found on the coyote FB groups and my personal experience with the install and some info from the tuner's end.. there are some specific tables that need to be changed by the sounds of it (the voltages metioned above) and what we're seeing in this thread backs that up. Obviously they are not going to post exactly how to tune these for the world to see, but it should really help everyone out getting these things on the cars and sorted out.

haha nice :headbang:

This is what I was getting at in the other thread asking who at what company did what, I didn't want to throw anyone under the bus but its a specific fix.

Well I spoke a little too soon. LOL car is definitely driving Night and day difference. No more surging. But I just threw the code P2006. No longer P2005. If it wasn’t for the code I wouldn’t have noticed anything.

I think thats just a further adjustment in said table for voltages.

My understanding is the banks on the 15/17s are an inverse of eachother where on the 18 its a mirror.. so if the tables are exact copies of eachother one bank will still kick the code.. He should be able to adjust it and get the light to go off.

I don’t understand how they’re claiming it’s the wiring with a P2005 and then a P2006 code. Those are codes for 2 different banks. If the wiring was messed up why would it be one bank and then another after a tuning change? Unless you swapped the adapters around.

Thats what blows my mind. I didn’t touch anything.

Could my IMRC Be plugged into the wrong ones? In other words could they be backwards which could be causing this issue? Or side specific? I remember underneath the old manifold had one on the left and one on the right? .

Before changing anything.. I would be clear with him that you have not adjusted anything wiring wise since the last tune revision.

If you were getting P2005 they revised the tune and then the code moved to P2006 that indicates something tune related. Especially if the hesitation went away.

However if you want to rule out the wiring before doing this.. id swap the harnesses from one side to the other. If the code switches then perhaps the one harness is wiring is incorrect. If you change the 2 harnesses and the code doesnt move then clearly its not the harness.

OK this weekend I’m gonna take a look at the harness if not fixed by than, but when I took a glance the other day it looks like I’m I have to pull The intake to be able to swap these?

And to be honest the car feels great. Almost feels like I have flex fuel in the tank. But I’m only running 91 right now until tune and is taken care of.
