how long was the install?
Depends on if you want to save money or not. I did the drain method so I wouldn't have to buy new coolant, and honestly taking off the air diffuser underneath takes so damn long because of all the bolts in the future I'll just buy more coolant. The thermostat itself is two bolts once you get the air intake out of the way.

I drained about a gallon straight into a big bucket. Didn't use a tube, bucket fit right under the drain spout.

When you re-fill, is there any special bleeding procedure to get the air out of the block/system?

burp the system and make sure theirs no air pockets.
I haven't looked but I'm pretty sure our cars overflow tank is the only radiator cap, correct? If so, the burping process here is just to let the car run and cycle through a few cooling cycles with the cap off to let air escape, correct?

Installed the 170 thermostat yesterday and was able to take the car out for a ride today and my temps used to reach 205degrees and now I don't see over 193. Definitely worth the coin.

it has an engine!
Ive been using it for the past 10-12y ears. What do you want to know? It might be higher dollar but i prefer it. Plus it can last the life of the car. Just drain it and reuse when doing water pumps etc.
