The Performance may be similar to the 5.0 but the day to day and livability is way different.
I'm not saying the RS won't be a comfortable DD but certainly way different experience then the S550. I recently sold my heavily modded AWD Evo and in the 1/8 mile or stop light to stop light it owned a lot of cars. I was also happy to sell it and get back into the American Muscle. There is no doubt that when the mods hit the RS it will be very quick but will it be more fun to drive? IMO I'd take the 8.

We're cut from the same slice of cheese man. I traded in my STi for this 5.0. I am kind of missing AWD and boost. I do have a daily drive currently, but that may change if i buy an AWD toy again. The 5.0 will NEVER see snow or ice lol. (i know you live in Cali, so GFY).

Yep I hear ya-- I am not quite at the missing stage yet. That will probably come sooner or later when I see the RS on the streets. My Evo never made it out of the tarmac setting so the "I bought it for weather conditions" doesn't work in these parts. LOL Best of Luck

I'll also join the cheese party, fellow STi owner...I sometimes miss the AWD grip.

I bet this car will be a blast to drive and I like how it has the essence of the Mustang in its looks.

I will be going with the rs although I already have a Mustang as well so I guess my point is mute. If I had to choose one though I would go with the rs. Everybody and their mother has a mustang. The rs will be more rare, practical, and an absolute blast to drive.

Damn you man, always one-upping me!

This is kind of how I feel about it too. Plus, I've loved the RS for years. Now I can finally have one, AND it's awd AND it's more powerful? Ford FTW.

I ended up with my ecoboost while shopping for RS. I couldn't find anyone willing to let me get one at msrp so my dealer offered me the ebm for a deal. Everyone wanted 5k-10k over sticker and I'm not one of those people who will pay over so no RS for me for 2016. I was seriously even considering the new golf R. Thats one bad arse vw.

I miss my WRX, I can only imagine how all the ex-STi owners feel. My last car was a mazdaspeed 3. So I could really handle the practicality of a hot hatch. However, I don't think my Mustang is going anywhere soon.

If anyone is looking and don't mind the dealer bump up my local dealer is getting 7 in. It's at Koons Ford of Baltimore.

They still have 7 for a reason.

Because at Koon's Ford an ADM and piss poor service is the name of the game. Their only decent dealership is in Sterling, VA, and they move a ton of Mustangs, and seemingly have far better service in that regard than any of their other locations.
