What’s everyone doing? The actual 11.5 or you just pouring all 12 quarts in?

I used the whole 12 quarts. After I changed the oil and filter the stick was showing 1/2 quart low, so I added the last 1/2 quart.

Hold your horses.....

I did exactly the same thing, and it still showed about a half quart low.

Run around the track a whole bunch of times, and the oil quantity increased. I'm not talking about thermal expansion. It was a bit low at 12 qts, now it is a bit high. Id put the 11.5 qts in there.

Interesting. I can do 11.5, drive, then measure.

Make it a very spirited one. I didn't see the increase until sustained high RPM. Its the strangest thing. I never added oil, and then under those conditions, it went up.

Apples to apples, measuring each time when the engine had sat overnight and oil was cold.

will do. And what the heck is this plastic shield in front of the oil filter? Is that there just to make changing the oil difficult??

The shield will move just enough to approach the filter from the left wheel well. Yea, not optimal, but it works.

Got to get a new flexible funnel. The one I have for R is too big. Wont fit under there

After driving yes, a bit below, id say 3/4s in between the etched portions of the stick
Edit to add, thats the exact same spot it was from factory
