Hi folks,

Looking to see if anyone has any idea when it's "safe" to go WOT or accelerate aggressively with regards to the trans temp? It seems to take 15-20 minutes of stop and go driving for the temp to reach 140ish, at best. I've tried searching but cannot find anything that correlates with what I'm trying to ask.

my trans temp gauge has a marker line that seems to be the operating temp line. i will see if i can tell what temp that is. but i know it does take at least 15 min to get there

To clarify, your talking safe minimum?

For most of the older fords(e4od and 4r100) its like 90* the big allison in gm is 100*

Yes, I want to know the safe minimum temp before I can go WOT. Are you talking 90°c or 90°f?

90F is way to cold to be driving hard, operating temp is around 200F so 90C
I figured as much.

It's nearly impossible to get this transmission up to that kind of temp without driving 60+ minutes...

It has a gauge if you toggle right that shows above 130 something F it is in normal range. I agree it takes forever to warm up.
