2018 here, I don't hear any trans sounds. Although it is pretty damn clunky and confused until it warms up completely.

Have your transmission reset by plugging into the OBD II port.

Brand-new car already checked by Ford two times. They simply say that this "whining" is normal. It sounds like a supercharger and that is not a good thing. The noise just sticks in your head and is so annoying.

Yeah I had mine checked because of the noise. They didn't checked fluid level though I had to do it my self. It was a litre to low. It got lot better after having the car tuned.

Another whine victim here. I bought a new 23 GT about two months ago. I should have waited for the new model but I got impatient and now I'm paying for it. Horrible whine that I consider on the loud side. Its super embarrassing when I'm driving slow in my neighborhood or in a lot. I'm guessing others hear that and think "what's wrong with that pos?" I love everything else about the car and prefer the s550 looks over the s650 but at this point I'm tempted to just trade it for something else all together while its worth what I owe. I have only driven it 800 miles in two months and I'm terrified of changing the oil because I just know I will also have the bbq tick. What's worse is I'm hearing that they engineered the transmission whine and bbq tick out of the new model. Sure wish I had waited or gone mopar, which I also considered. Thanks Ford!

Just discovered this thread - i have the convertible and driving down narrow streets with the top down the whine is louder than the exhaust note - its terrible and i hate it - if its normal i guess ill have to get a loud exhaust and drown it out! Glad i found the thread because I’ve taken it in twice and been told they can’t hear anthying or “it’s normal”

The whine is 100 percent normal on the 10r80, it's the design of the trans pump. It's very well known.

I find it strange that my 2018 Factory trans(2017 Build) had minimal whine, but my mid 2023 replacement trans has a very audible whine.
